The posting

About the organisation

IFFW is an exhibitions and media group serving the future fuels sector across aviation, maritime and land transport. Its flagship event, International Future Fuels Week, is a B2B conference and exhibition. The inaugural edition will take place from 14 to 17 June 2027 at Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, and is expected to attract 3,500 delegates from more than 30 countries.

Role purpose

The Sponsorship & Exhibition Sales Manager is responsible for generating sponsorship and exhibition revenue for IFFW 2027. The role covers the full sales cycle, from prospecting and proposal through to contract, payment and client servicing up to and during the event. The role holder will also support the Executive Director on strategic accounts and commercial projects.

As 2027 is the inaugural edition, there is no prior-year client base to renew. The role holder will build the sponsor and exhibitor base from the ground up, and should enjoy new-business selling.

Key responsibilities

Sales and business development

  • Identify, qualify and approach prospective sponsors and exhibitors across the fuels, energy, aviation, maritime and transport sectors.
  • Engage senior decision-makers, including heads of commercial, business development and marketing, to understand their objectives and recommend the right mix of sponsorship, exhibition and branding.
  • Sell sponsorship packages and add-on opportunities in line with the approved rate card.
  • Sell exhibition space, advising clients on stand options, locations and applicable charges.
  • Follow up leads generated by marketing campaigns by phone and email, and convert them into qualified opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with exhibition and stand-building agencies.
  • Represent IFFW at selected industry events to generate new business.
  • Track competing events and sponsorship trends across the energy and transport sectors, and feed market insight back to the Executive Director.

Client management

  • Act as the principal point of contact for assigned sponsors and exhibitors from contract through to the close of the event.
  • Work with the marketing, programme and operations teams to align sales campaigns, floorplan planning and the delivery of sponsor and exhibitor entitlements as contracted.

Sales administration and reporting

  • Prepare proposals, quotations and contracts, and follow up to ensure timely signature and payment.
  • Maintain accurate records of the floorplan and sold sponsorship inventory to prevent double allocation.
  • Maintain the sales pipeline in the CRM and report weekly to the Executive Director on pipeline, bookings, revenue forecast and market feedback.

At the event

  • Look after sponsors and exhibitors on site and strengthen relationships face to face.
  • Run the rebooking campaign for the 2028 edition, securing commitments from current sponsors and exhibitors during the show.
  • Meet prospective sponsors among the delegates and exhibitors to build next year's pipeline.

Supporting the Executive Director

  • Prepare briefing notes, proposals and follow-ups for the Executive Director's meetings with senior sponsors, partners and government agencies.
  • Support strategic and high-value accounts that the Executive Director leads directly, from first meeting through to contract.
  • Follow up commercial leads from the Executive Director's network, speaking engagements and roadshow events.
  • Take on ad hoc commercial projects as the event develops, such as new sponsorship products or partner programmes.

Qualifications and experience

Essential

  • At least three years of experience in B2B sales, preferably in sponsorship, exhibition or conference sales.
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle, from lead generation through to contract and payment.
  • A record of closing high-value sponsorship deals, with the confidence to negotiate face to face with VP and C-level buyers.
  • Demonstrated record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation and written communication skills, including the preparation of tailored commercial proposals.
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel.

Desirable

  • Established relationships with exhibition or stand-building agencies in Singapore or the wider region.
  • Familiarity with the energy, aviation, maritime or transport sectors.
  • Experience selling a launch or first-edition event.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or a comparable CRM.
  • Experience selling sponsorship for digital or virtual events as well as physical ones.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin or another foreign language.

What we offer

  • A competitive base salary and a commission scheme linked to sponsorship and exhibition revenue, commensurate with experience.
  • A founding role on a new international event planned to run annually, with scope to grow as the event grows.
  • Direct working access to the Executive Director, and to senior industry and government contacts across the region.

Application

Interested candidates should submit a CV and a brief cover note outlining relevant sales experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
