Responsibilities
- Spearhead the electrical design for critical facilities, managing elements like standby generators, UPS systems, automatic transfer switches, and HV/LV power distribution.
- Draft and develop essential technical documents, including short-circuit analyses, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and lightning protection layouts.
- Design robust critical power architectures that meet exact client reliability needs and align with Uptime Institute Tier requirements.
- Evaluate energy efficiency and optimize Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) while maintaining oversight of CAD/BIM deliverables for accuracy.
- Conduct rigorous technical audits and design reviews to ensure alignment with local regulations and international frameworks like NFPA and IEC.
- Navigate the construction phase by processing RFIs, approving submittals, and providing on-the-ground support during factory (FAT) and site (SAT) acceptance testing.
- Work seamlessly alongside architectural and structural teams to integrate design packages, all while mentoring junior and mid-level engineering staff.
- Drive business growth by contributing to feasibility studies and new technical proposals.
Requirements
- Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely aligned discipline.
- Experience: At least 6 years of overall electrical engineering experience, featuring a minimum of 3 years specifically dedicated to data centers, mission-critical sites, or large-scale commercial M&E developments.
- Industry Background: Candidates must possess prior experience operating within a technical design or engineering consultancy firm.
- Project Delivery: A demonstrated history of guiding complex electrical design packages from the initial concept phase straight through to construction and final commissioning.
- Technical Tools: Advanced proficiency with essential drafting and analysis software, including AutoCAD, Revit MEP/BIM, and either ETAP or SKM PowerTools.
- Domain Knowledge: Hands-on experience with High Voltage (HV) systems operating at 11 kV and above, coupled with a deep understanding of IEC standards and data center redundancy models (such as N+1, 2N, and concurrent maintainability).
