Structural Design Engineer – Offshore / E-House

Location: Singapore Employment Type: Contract Industry: Engineering / Energy / Offshore

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Structural Design Engineer to support the structural engineering and design of E-Houses, offshore modules and modular structures for major energy and engineering projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for structural analysis, calculations and detailed design, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the design, fabrication and project execution stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and detailed design for E-Houses, offshore modules, topside structures and modular steel structures.
  • Carry out structural calculations and analysis using SACS and/or STAAD.Pro.
  • Design and verify primary and secondary steel structures, module framing, platforms, equipment supports, pipe supports and miscellaneous steel structures.
  • Perform structural checks for in-place, lifting, transportation, load-out and installation conditions where required.
  • Prepare and review structural calculations, design reports, design philosophies and technical documentation.
  • Review structural drawings, fabrication drawings, general arrangements and engineering deliverables.
  • Perform design checks considering dead loads, live loads, equipment loads, environmental loads and transportation loads.
  • Coordinate structural requirements for electrical and mechanical equipment, including equipment support and interface requirements.
  • Work closely with Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Architectural, Piping and Project Engineering teams.
  • Review vendor drawings and technical documentation for structural interfaces.
  • Provide engineering support during fabrication, assembly and construction.
  • Participate in design reviews and resolve technical queries from clients, vendors and fabrication teams.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable project specifications, engineering standards and international codes.
  • Support design changes and engineering modifications throughout project execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Relevant experience in structural design and analysis within offshore, marine, oil & gas, energy or major engineering projects.
  • Hands-on experience with SACS and/or STAAD.Pro is highly preferred.
  • Experience designing E-Houses, offshore topsides, Living Quarters, offshore modules or modular structures will be highly advantageous.
  • Good understanding of steel structural design, including module framing, equipment supports, platforms and secondary steel.
  • Familiarity with structural analysis for lifting, transportation, load-out and in-place conditions is advantageous.
  • Able to read and interpret structural drawings, engineering specifications and project documentation.
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and fabrication teams.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as within a multidisciplinary project environment.
