Job Title: Construction Excavator Repair Supervisor
Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Supervisor to oversee the repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of excavators and other heavy machinery. The candidate should possess strong technical knowledge and be able to supervise technicians while personally handling complex repair and diagnostic work when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily workshop, maintenance and repair activities.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot excavator mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems.
- Carry out and supervise engine overhaul, repair and rebuilding works.
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, control valves, cylinders, hoses and related components.
- Perform electrical wiring troubleshooting, including identifying faults in wiring, sensors, switches, starting and charging systems.
- Troubleshoot excavator performance issues and identify root causes of breakdowns.
- Carry out preventive maintenance, servicing and inspection of excavators and heavy machinery.
- Guide and supervise mechanics/technicians to ensure repairs are completed correctly and efficiently.
- Plan repair schedules and minimise equipment downtime.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools, diagnostic equipment and machinery.
- Monitor spare parts requirements and coordinate replacement of defective components.
- Maintain repair and maintenance records.
- Ensure all repair works comply with company safety procedures and standards.
- Attend to on-site breakdowns and repair works when required.
- Perform other related duties assigned by management.
Requirements:
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in excavator/heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
Strong hands-on experience in excavator troubleshooting and repair.
Experienced in diesel engine overhaul and repair.
Good knowledge of hydraulic system troubleshooting and repair.
Able to perform electrical wiring and electrical fault troubleshooting.
Able to read electrical and hydraulic diagrams would be an advantage.
Strong problem-solving and fault-diagnosis skills.
Able to supervise and guide a team of mechanics/technicians.
Responsible, independent and able to work under pressure.
Experience with different excavator brands will be an advantage.
Possession of a valid driving licence is an advantage.
