Job Summary
The Car Repair Supervisor oversees daily workshop operations, ensuring vehicle repairs and maintenance are completed efficiently, safely, and to high-quality standards. This role involves supervising technicians, managing workflow, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate activities of automotive technicians and mechanics
- Assign repair jobs based on skill level and workload
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance with standards
- Diagnose complex vehicle issues and provide technical guidance
- Ensure timely completion of repairs and adherence to deadlines
- Maintain workshop safety standards and enforce compliance
- Monitor inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts
- Coordinate with parts department for availability of materials
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and provide technical explanations when needed
- Maintain service records, reports, and documentation
- Train and mentor junior technicians
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma or certification in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Proven experience (typically 3–5+ years) in automotive repair, with supervisory experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of vehicle systems (engine, transmission, electrical, diagnostics)
- Leadership and team management skills
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and workshop software
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
