About the role (1 Year Project renewable/ Airport work location)
In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and supporting critical system infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability. You'll work with databases, Windows environments, virtualization platforms, and containerized applications to keep our systems running smoothly and securely. Key responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of MS SQL Server databases
- Execute backup and restore procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity
- Monitor database performance metrics and implement tuning strategies
- Apply patches, updates, and security configurations in accordance with best practices
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including user accounts, group policies, and security configurations
- Respond promptly to system-related queries and incidents, ensuring timely resolution
- Perform system patching, updates, and hardening procedures to maintain security compliance
- Support virtual machine (VM) environments, including resource allocation and performance optimization
- Participate in rotational standby duty roster to provide after-office-hours support
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and best practices
About you
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in system administration and infrastructure support
- Strong technical skills in MS SQL Server administration, including maintenance, backup/restore, and performance monitoring
- Proven experience with Windows Server administration (user management, Active Directory, group policies)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Foundational knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
- Basic familiarity with container technologies (Docker or equivalent)
- Willingness and availability to participate in rotational standby duty for after-office-hours support
- Knowledge of PowerShell scripting or batch files for automation
- Understanding of patch management and deployment tools (SCCM, WSUS, or equivalent)
