Role Overview:
The role is responsible for managing the company’s full set of accounting functions, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with GST and tax requirements, and proper maintenance of accounting records. The successful candidate will also support the setup, implementation, and audit requirements related to the Maritime Sector Incentive – Approved International Shipping (MSI-AIS) or Global Trader Programme (GTP), while working closely with internal teams to ensure accounting processes are properly maintained and transactions are accurately recorded.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the full set of accounts using the company’s ERP system
- Prepare and complete monthly closing and financial reports
- Compile and maintain supporting schedules for audit purposes
- Handle GST reporting and ensure timely submission of relevant returns
- Assist with tax computations, reviews, and related financial analysis
- Support the setup and implementation of processes related to MSI-AIS or GTP requirements
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and allocated to the appropriate revenue or cost centre
- Maintain accurate and complete accounting records in accordance with company policies and relevant accounting requirements
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Hands-on experience with the setup, implementation, and audit of either the Maritime Sector Incentive – Approved International Shipping (MSI-AIS) or Global Trader Programme (GTP)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an added advantage
- Strong full set accounting experience, preferably within the shipping or maritime industry
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision and manage responsibilities effectively in a fast-paced environment
