I am seeking a Tax Assistant Manager to handle tax compliance and supporting the company’s overall tax function. The Tax Accountant will serve as a key liaison between the Finance team and cross-functional business stakeholders, external tax consultants, and the relevant tax authorities

about the job

  • Prepare tax schedules and manage statutory reporting, filing, and payment deadlines across CIT, GST, WHT, transfer pricing, BEPS Pillar Two, and GTP.
  • Lead and coordinate the rollout of new e-invoicing requirements and related tax system updates.
  • Streamline direct and indirect tax workflows, establish compliance best practices, and maintain comprehensive process and internal control documentation.
  • Triage tax-related issues to resolve root causes, keep abreast of developments in tax laws, and explain technical implications to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Draft responses to information requests from tax authorities and collaborate with external tax consultants on ACAP for GST, Tax Risk, transfer pricing, and BEPS Pillar Two documentation.
  • Partner with internal business units to implement updated tax requirements and train teams to ensure compliance awareness.
  • Support and rotate into core Finance & Administration tasks based on business needs, including month-end closing, reconciliations, financial reporting, treasury, and internal control initiatives.

skills and experience required

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation
  • ACCA/CPA/CTA is preferred
  • At least 5 years related experience in corporate tax and GST, preferred experience in Big 4/oil&gas industry
  • Good knowledge of applicable tax laws, regulations and administrative practices, with the ability to assess their impact on business operations
  • Highly motivated, responsible, and collaborative spirit
  • Business-level Japanese is a plus
