Role Overview

Support vessel procurement and technical operations by managing the sourcing, purchasing, logistics, and delivery of spare parts, stores, lubricants, and technical services for assigned vessels.

Responsibilities

  • Source, evaluate, and procure spare parts, stores, lubricants, and technical services in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure compliance with technical specifications and quality requirements.
  • Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with company procedures and budget controls.
  • Liaise with Technical Superintendents, vessel personnel, and relevant stakeholders to understand and fulfil procurement requirements.
  • Support procurement planning for dry dockings, repairs, maintenance, and other vessel projects.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and agents to ensure timely delivery to vessels at designated ports.
  • Track shipments and resolve delivery, customs, and port clearance issues.
  • Monitor vessel inventory levels and support effective stock management.
  • Ensure procurement activities remain within approved budgets and obtain the necessary approvals for excess spending.
  • Prepare monthly procurement and related reports.

Requirements

  • Diploma or equivalent qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Maritime, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in marine procurement, vessel operations, technical purchasing, or a similar role for 2 years is preferred.
  • Knowledge of ship spare parts, technical supplies, and vessel maintenance requirements is an advantage.
  • Strong negotiation, coordination, and supplier management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
