The posting
The role
Own the interface between our product and its market. Sitting between R&D and business development, you will turn field feedback into a prioritised roadmap, sharpen competitive positioning, and carry product strategy as we expand from surveillance into new verticals. You will be the person who knows why we win deals, why we lose them, and what we build next.
Key responsibilities
- Product strategy: define and maintain the roadmap across product lines; prioritise features from customer and integrator feedback, support tickets and win and loss analysis
- Competitive positioning: track competing approaches, VMS side video features and adjacent vendors; maintain battlecards, comparison collateral and pricing input
- Vertical expansion: qualify new verticals beyond surveillance; define requirements, packaging and go to market for each
- Product marketing: own messaging, datasheets, website copy, case studies and launch plans; brief sales and partners on releases
- Voice of the field: run structured discovery with VMS partners, system integrators and end users; feed findings into R&D planning cycles
- Metrics: define and track adoption, activation and revenue metrics per product line
Requirements
- At least 4 years in product management or product marketing for B2B software, ideally video, security or infrastructure products
- Working technical fluency in video compression, streaming or surveillance ecosystems: able to hold a credible conversation on video codecs, RTSP and ONVIF, and VMS integration
- Demonstrated ownership of a roadmap and prioritisation process with engineering
- Strong writing: positioning documents, datasheets and launch material
- Comfortable working as the only product and marketing person in a small company
Preferred
- Experience in the physical security, CCTV or VMS industry (Milestone, Genetec, Network Optix or similar ecosystems)
- Prior work at a startup taking a technical product into new verticals
- Familiarity with software licensing business models
