Role Overview

A high-tech manufacturing organisation is expanding its facilities in Singapore and is seeking an experienced Water Treatment & Chemicals specialist to support a major facility development project.

The role will provide technical leadership across water treatment, chemical and utility systems throughout design, construction, commissioning and handover. You will work with EPC contractors, consultants, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure systems are technically robust, safe and compliant.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead technical matters related to water treatment, chemical and utility systems.

• Review design submissions, RFIs and proposed design changes.

• Provide technical expertise across Ultra-Pure Water (UPW), wastewater treatment, water reclamation, chemical distribution, slurry and bulk/specialty gas systems.

• Develop and review site water balance, recycling strategies, utility capacities and wastewater treatment requirements.

• Assess proposed solutions from technical, cost, schedule, operational and maintainability perspectives.

• Participate in risk assessments, design reviews and value engineering activities.

• Work closely with EPC contractors, consultants and suppliers.

• Collaborate with Production, Process Engineering and EHS teams.

• Support technical evaluation and procurement of major water treatment, chemical and gas utility systems.

• Ensure compliance with environmental, regulatory and safety requirements.

• Coordinate with relevant Singapore authorities where required.

• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, qualification and facility handover.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.

• 8+ years of experience in water treatment, wastewater treatment, chemical or gas utility systems within semiconductor, PCB, substrate, FPD or other high-tech manufacturing environments.

• Experience across design, construction, commissioning and operational handover.

• Strong knowledge of UPW, wastewater treatment, water reclamation and water balance optimisation.

• Experience with chemical distribution, slurry systems and bulk/specialty gases.

• Experience with plating wastewater treatment and metal-bearing waste streams is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with EPC project delivery, design review and change management.

• Knowledge of Singapore environmental, hazardous substances and industrial utility regulations.

• Understanding of process utility safety and risk management requirements.
