Job Summary

The Technical Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating in-house workers and subcontractors to ensure that all construction works are carried out safely, efficiently, and according to the project schedule, drawings, and required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Worker Coordination Coordinate and allocate daily work assignments to in-house workers according to project requirements. Monitor workers’ attendance, productivity, and work progress. Ensure sufficient manpower is available for daily site activities. Guide workers on work procedures and resolve day-to-day work-related issues.
  2. Subcontractor Coordination Coordinate with subcontractors regarding work schedules, manpower, and site requirements. Ensure subcontractors carry out their work according to the project schedule and approved drawings. Monitor subcontractors’ progress and coordinate work sequences between different trades. Follow up on delays, work clashes, and outstanding items with subcontractors.
  3. Site Supervision Supervise daily in-house construction activities and ensure work is completed according to the required specifications. Check site conditions, materials, tools, and equipment before work commences. Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineer, Main Contractor, and other relevant parties. Identify site issues and report them promptly to management.
  4. Work Progress and Reporting Prepare daily work progress updates and report manpower deployment. Monitor project schedules and ensure work is completed within the required timeline. Report delays, material shortages, and additional manpower requirements. Follow up on outstanding and rectification works.
  5. Quality Control Ensure all works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Inspect completed work and arrange rectification where necessary. Coordinate inspections with the Main Contractor and relevant parties.
  6. Workplace Safety Ensure workers and subcontractors comply with site safety rules and regulations. Conduct toolbox briefings and remind workers to use the required personal protective equipment (PPE). Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and hazards to the relevant safety personnel. Ensure proper housekeeping is maintained at the worksite.
  7. Materials and Equipment Coordinate material delivery and distribution to ensure work proceeds smoothly. Monitor the usage of materials, tools, and equipment. Inform management of material shortages or additional requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in construction site supervision and coordination.
  • Ability to coordinate in-house workers and subcontractors effectively.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of construction work procedures, quality control, and site safety.
  • Able to prepare daily progress reports and manpower records.
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple site activities.

Knowledge of construction work procedures, quality control, and site safety. Able to prepare daily work progress reports, manpower records, and project updates. Able to work independently and manage multiple site activities.
