Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Test Engineer with experience in semiconductor testing and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE). The successful candidate will be responsible for test program development, first-silicon debug, device characterization, production release, yield improvement and test-time optimisation for Digital, PMIC, RF and Mixed-Signal semiconductor products.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain semiconductor test programs for Digital, PMIC, RF and Mixed-Signal products using ATE platforms.
- Develop and debug test programs primarily on Advantest 93K with Smartest 7 / Smartest 8 and/or Teradyne Ultra Flex.
- Work closely with Design Engineers during first-silicon debug, device characterization, test program bring-up and production release.
- Debug digital test vectors including JTAG, SCAN, ATPG, Functional and MBIST.
- Perform device characterization across PVT (Process, Voltage and Temperature) conditions.
- Support characterization of Mixed-Signal IP including ADC, DAC, PLL and related circuits.
- Develop, debug and optimise test methodologies to improve product quality and test coverage.
- Analyse test data and identify opportunities for yield improvement and test-time reduction.
- Support test program hand-off from engineering development to high-volume production.
- Investigate test failures and perform root-cause analysis in collaboration with Design, Product and Quality Engineering teams.
- Support production test issues, yield excursions and test-related failure analysis.
- Prepare and maintain test specifications, test plans, test programs, characterization reports and technical documentation.
- Participate in engineering builds, product qualification and production release activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality Engineering and Foundry Engineering.
- Perform hands-on laboratory testing, debugging and measurement activities using relevant test and measurement equipment.
- Support continuous improvement of semiconductor test processes, methodologies and test coverage.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Semiconductor Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2–5 years of relevant semiconductor Test Engineering experience preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Teradyne UltraFLEX and/or Advantest 93K ATE is highly advantageous.
- Experience with SmarTest 7 and/or SmarTest 8 is an advantage.
- Good understanding of analog and digital electronics.
- Knowledge of semiconductor testing, device characterization and production test methodologies.
- Understanding of Digital, Mixed-Signal, PMIC and/or RF device testing.
- Knowledge of JTAG, SCAN, ATPG, Functional Test and MBIST is advantageous.
- Understanding of PVT characterization and semiconductor test data analysis.
- Experience in test program development, debug and production release is preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform hands-on debugging and testing in a laboratory environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a cross-functional engineering environment.
- Willingness to support engineering and production activities as required.
