The posting

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a game developer and licensor with a portfolio that has evolved from mid-to-heavy online titles into casual and board games. Its early self-developed, licence-operated series include Kings and Legends, Hero’s Crown, Heroines of Three Kingdoms, Endless Battles and Legends of Fairies, followed by high-turnover casual titles such as Fish War, Snack War, Star Chronicle and a range of board and puzzle games.

THE ROLE

We're looking for a skilled Web Engineer to join our team in Singapore. You will build and maintain our public corporate, publishing and game websites, as well as a secure internal platform for game analytics, administration and live operations. This is a full-stack role spanning user interfaces, C#/.NET web applications, APIs, SQL Server data and production support. You will work with publishing, marketing, product, live-operations, data, backend and DevOps teams to turn business and game requirements into reliable, secure and usable web experiences. This is an on-site position based in Singapore.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Build and maintain responsive public websites for the company, publishing activities and game titles, covering corporate information, products, news, careers, investor information, support and legal content.
  • Deliver fast, accessible, search-friendly and multilingual web experiences across desktop and mobile, with reliable content, analytics and third-party integrations.
  • Maintain and extend the internal administration platform used by live operations, customer support, publishing and management teams.
  • Develop dashboards, charts, filters, drill-down views and export workflows for real-time and historical game data such as player activity, retention, progression, economy, payments, events, battles and server performance.
  • Build and maintain server-side features and APIs in C#/.NET across the existing ASP.NET, MVC, Web API and Web Forms environment, improving the codebase incrementally.
  • Integrate SQL Server databases, stored procedures, game services and internal or external APIs; validate data definitions, accuracy, permissions and performance.
  • Develop safe operational workflows for account and player support, announcements, rewards, server configuration and access control, with appropriate confirmation and audit trails.
  • Implement and review authentication, session management, role-based authorization, input validation, secure uploads and exports, logging and other web-security controls.
  • Create reusable frontend components with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, ECharts or suitable modern alternatives, keeping responsive and cross-browser behaviour consistent.
  • Support deployment, monitoring, performance tuning and production troubleshooting across IIS, cloud storage, CDNs and related web infrastructure, in coordination with DevOps.
  • Write tests and technical documentation, take part in code reviews, and work with stakeholders to clarify requirements, validate metrics and deliver maintainable solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience building and supporting production web applications in a full-stack or backend-leaning web role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET, with the ability to develop and maintain ASP.NET MVC, Web API and Web Forms applications.
  • Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS and JavaScript, including practical experience with jQuery, Bootstrap or comparable frontend libraries.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including relational data modelling, stored procedures, query troubleshooting and performance considerations.
  • Experience designing or integrating HTTP and REST APIs, JSON-based services and data flows between web applications and backend systems.
  • Experience building dashboards, data tables, charts, filters and CSV or Excel exports for operational or analytical users.
  • Solid understanding of web security, authentication, session management, role-based access control, audit logging and the risks of privileged administrative actions.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility, browser compatibility, web performance and search-engine optimisation for public websites.
  • Experience with Git, automated testing, code review, production debugging and improving established or legacy codebases without disrupting users.
  • Strong problem-solving, documentation and English communication skills, with willingness to work on-site in Singapore.

Good to Have

  • Experience maintaining corporate, game or publishing websites with multilingual content, content-management workflows, SEO and web analytics.
  • Experience building internal admin, back-office, customer-support or live-operations tools with fine-grained permissions and audit requirements.
  • Understanding of game analytics such as DAU, retention, LTV, monetisation, economy flows, player funnels, progression and event performance.
  • Experience with a modern JavaScript or TypeScript framework such as React, Vue or Angular.
  • Experience with ECharts, D3.js, Chart.js or similar visualisation libraries, including large or complex datasets.
  • Experience with IIS and cloud-based object storage, CDN, logging or monitoring services;
  • familiarity with Alibaba Cloud is an advantage.
  • Experience with localisation, mobile-game publishing, payment or attribution integrations, support portals, or privacy and account-management web flows.
  • Passion for games or prior experience supporting production systems in the gaming industry.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
