The posting

We are seeking temporary Tram Tour Drivers to join our team for the upcoming 2026 holiday season (mid-October through early-Janurary).  The Tram Tour Driver is responsible for transporting and guiding guests on tours of NASA Johnson Space Center, while working in partnership with the Tram Tour Guide to ensure a positive and engaging guest experience. Responsibilities and qualifications are shown below: POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely operate a Space Center Houston tram vehicles according to established procedures. Engage guests through pleasant greetings and by providing exceptional guest service. Educate guests about current NASA programs and the history of manned space flight. Follow established routes and directions of dispatcher. Operate ramp to assist wheelchair-bound passengers on and off tram. Work as part of a team on common duties to ensure the efficient operation of the tour. Responsible for proper flow of guests on the tour and through tour attractions and exhibits at NASA JSC. Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work location. Accurately document hourly and daily reports. Other duties and special projects as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and an excellent driving record. Previous experience driving large, multi-occupant vehicles preferred. Customer service experience preferred. Ability to adhere to all company safety standards, service values, and operating procedures. An enthusiastic and outgoing personality with strong interpersonal and communication skills.  A genuine desire and willingness to provide an excellent guest experience and proactively engage guests. The ability to work well as part of a team environment. A self-starter with the maturity to work with little or no supervision. The ability to drive a vehicle and/or stand at assigned locations for up to 8 hours with periodic breaks. Ability to climb/descend stairs. Ability to move quickly through groups of people to reach guests who need assistance; assist guests in emergency situations and assist guests in wheelchairs with entering and exiting the tram or vehicle. Must have the ability to push and pull the guest’s weight when loading and unloading wheelchair. Must be available to work a varied schedule of weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed. Successfully complete a motor vehicle driving history check and drug screen. Minimum age for employment in this position is 18.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITONS:

Ability to safely operate a tram or large multi-occupant vehicle for extended periods of time. Ability to sit for prolonged periods while driving and to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours) with periodic breaks. Ability to climb and descend stairs and access vehicle platforms. Ability to push, pull, and maneuver wheelchairs, including assisting guests with boarding and exiting the tram. Ability to lift and/or apply force necessary to operate wheelchair ramps and assist guests safely. Ability to move quickly through groups of guests to provide assistance or respond to emergency situations. Manual dexterity and coordination sufficient to operate vehicle controls, safety equipment, and reporting tools. Visual and auditory ability sufficient to operate a vehicle safely, monitor guest conditions, and respond to instructions and environmental cues. Work is performed both indoors and outdoors and may include exposure to varying weather conditions such as heat, humidity, and rain. Frequent interaction with large groups of guests in a public, fast-paced environment. Exposure to vehicle noise, traffic, and pedestrian activity. Work schedule may include weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays based on operational needs. Requires adherence to strict safety, operational, and guest service standards.
