Your mission
As a Field Application Scientist at NanoTemper, you will bridge the gap between cutting-edge biophysical technology and customer success. You'll serve as a trusted scientific partner to researchers and biopharma teams, delivering expert application knowledge that brings measurable value to customers while driving product excellence. This customer-facing role combines hands-on technical expertise, scientific communication, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure our solutions seamlessly integrate into customer workflows and accelerate their research outcomes.
Customer Engagement & Support
- Lead in-field and in-house customer demonstrations showcasing NanoTemper solutions and applications across diverse research contexts
- Support pre-sales technical discussions (remote and in-person) by understanding customer needs and aligning technologies to research workflows and scientific goals
- Prepare, present, and discuss demo and evaluation reports with customers and internal stakeholders to highlight experimental outcomes and instrument performance
- Manage demo unit booking and logistics to ensure timely customer access and smooth operation
- Perform instrument installation and on-site technical support, ensuring successful deployment and user confidence
- Deliver application-focused and in-field user training tailored to customer research applications
Scientific Communication & Representation
- Support and present at webinars, workshops, and scientific conferences, highlighting application insights, case studies, and experimental data
- Support conference activities, engaging attendees and providing technical expertise
- Collaborate with Marketing and Product Management teams to translate findings into impactful, customer-facing content
- Contribute automation and workflow integration expertise during customer discussions to enhance system utilization and efficiency
- Support development of application notes, protocols, technical posters, and presentations to share best practices and results
- Support Sales teams by sharing technical insights and helping refine application messaging
Market Insight & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Gather and communicate market and application trends, competitive insights, and customer feedback to inform internal stakeholders
- Collaborate with Product Management and R&D teams on product performance feedback, feature development, and workflow improvements

Your expertise
Required Qualifications
- Education: PhD or MSc in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biophysics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on laboratory experience with protein characterization, drug discovery, or biophysical techniques
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of biophysical methods (e.g., binding affinity measurements, protein stability analysis, thermal shift assays), Experience with laboratory instrumentation and troubleshooting, Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and scientific reporting
- Communication: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences
- Travel: Willingness to travel regularly (up to 50-70%) for customer visits, demonstrations, and conferences
- Driver's License: Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required for travel to customer sites and field demonstrations
- Work authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without employer-provided visa sponsorship now or in the future. We are unable to provide sponsorship for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with NanoTemper technologies (Prometheus, Dianthus, Monolith) or similar biophysical platforms
- Background in antibody development, formulation science, fragment-based drug discovery, or biomanufacturing
- Experience in customer-facing roles (technical support, applications, or sales support)
- Track record of scientific publications or conference presentations
