The School seeks applicants examining how people interact, collaborate, create, work, and make decisions with increasingly intelligent computing systems, particularly those who both imagine and build new forms of human-computer interaction (HCI) and rigorously investigate how these technologies shape people, organizations, and society. We welcome research across HCI and related fields, including, but not limited to, human-AI interaction and collaboration, user experience design, intelligent and adaptive interfaces, social and collaborative computing, ubiquitous and embodied computing, information visualization, human-robot interaction, and emerging interaction modalities. We welcome a broad range of methodological approaches, including the design and development of novel systems, experimental and computational methods, qualitative and ethnographic research, participatory design methods, and mixed-methods approaches.
