Job Description Summary:
Provides oral health care, dental health education, and remediable intraoral procedures to patients in the hospital clinic.
Job Description:
Essential Functions:
- Examines patients' teeth and gums to identify any oral health issues.
- Cleans teeth by removing plaque, tartar, and stains.
- Educates patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provides advice on diet and lifestyle choices that can impact oral health.
- Administers local anesthesia and applies cavity-preventive agents such as fluoride and sealants.
- Takes and develops dental X-rays to help diagnose dental problems.
- Keeps detailed patient records and maintains a clean and sterile work environment.
Education Requirement:
- Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene school, required.
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
Licensure Requirement:
Licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, required.
Certifications:
Certified in CPR, required.
Skills:
- Robust communication skills, required.
- Demonstrates ability to treat and teach healthy and medically compromised patients.
- Possesses strong manual dexterity.
Experience:
Six months of relevant experience, preferred.

CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Color vision, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Computer skills, Depth perception, Fume /Gases /Vapors, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Hearing acuity, Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Patient Equipment, Peripheral vision, Repetitive hand/arm use, Seeing – Far/near, Walking
