Coordinates the tasks and duties of the housekeeping staff as set by management and ensures high levels of cleanliness, quality, and service. Provides a quality environment for patient care.

Essential Functions:
- Provides on the job training for new employees. Serves as a role model and mentor to other housekeepers.
- Performs quality control inspections. Cleans assigned areas as needed.
- Assess staffing levels to ensure proper coverage.
- Performs routine cleaning and coordinates with engineering to address and resolve facility maintenance and service issues.
- Demonstrates knowledge of 10 Step Cleaning Process and appropriate chemical use to meet department standards.
- Models proper methods of Infection Control in conjunction with cleaning procedures.
- Effectively relates and interacts with patients, families, staff.
Education Requirement:
High School graduate or equivalent, required.
Skills:
- Ability to speak and understand English.
- Demonstrate high degree of proficiency in the 10 Step Cleaning Process.
- Strong leadership, effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrates ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Displays positive customer service skills and promotes a team atmosphere.
Experience:
One year of housekeeping experience or service-related field with high customer or client contact, required.
Physical Requirements:
OCCASIONALLY: Climb stairs/ladder, Driving motor vehicles (work required) *additional testing may be required, Pushing / Pulling: 41-60 lbs, Sitting, Squat/kneel
FREQUENTLY: Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 21-40 lbs, Loud Noises, Patient Equipment
CONTINUOUSLY: Audible speech, Bend/twist, Biohazard waste, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Chemicals/Medications, Color vision, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Computer skills, Decision Making, Depth perception, Electricity, Flexing/extending of neck, Fume /Gases /Vapors, Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning, Hearing acuity, Interpreting Data, Machinery, Peripheral vision, Power Tools, Problem solving, Pushing / Pulling: 0-25 lbs, Pushing / Pulling: 26-40 lbs, Reaching above shoulder, Repetitive hand/arm use, Seeing – Far/near, Standing, Walking
