The posting

As a team member in Finance at Nationwide, a Fortune 100 company with nearly $70 billion in annual sales, the opportunities are endless! Let Nationwide help create your career journey! At Nationwide®, “on your side” goes beyond just words. Our customers are at the center of everything we do and we’re looking for associates who are passionate about delivering extraordinary care.

Join Nationwide’s Property & Casualty Actuarial team as an Actuary, Personal Lines Property Pricing, where you will help shape pricing strategy, product innovation, and market performance for personal lines insurance. This is an opportunity to make a visible business impact as a trusted actuarial partner to pricing, analytics, product, and business teams.

What you’ll do

  • Own pricing strategy for a large, complex state, using actuarial analysis, market intelligence, competitor filings, and sound professional judgment.
  • Serve as a pricing subject-matter expert for class-plan enhancements, new endorsements, new coverages, and broader personal lines product initiatives.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and analytics/modeling teams to interpret results, evaluate coverage and pricing alternatives, and recommend practical, profitable solutions.
  • Analyze internal loss experience and external market information to support price selection and identify opportunities to improve Nationwide’s offerings.
  • Translate complex actuarial findings into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships and lead delivery through influence, collaboration, and expertise.

What we’re looking for

  • Seven or more years of actuarial experience, preferably in Property & Casualty insurance, personal lines, pricing, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of actuarial methods, statistical analysis, pricing, actuarial models, databases, and analytical tools.
  • An actuarial designation, generally FCAS.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise actuarial judgment, assess data and assumptions, resolve non-optimal results, and turn analysis into business recommendations.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, strategic-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.

Advanced analytics, predictive modeling, programming, and modeling-software experience are valued, but not required. We are especially interested in actuaries who can connect analysis to pricing decisions, product strategy, customer needs, and profitable growth.

Why this opportunity

You’ll join a team that encourages innovation, continuous learning, peer collaboration, and the use of modern actuarial tools and methodologies. Your recommendations will help influence personal lines pricing, product development, coverage strategy, and the way Nationwide serves customers in a changing insurance market.

This is a full-time individual-contributor opportunity. This role can be staffed fully remote.

If you are an experienced P&C actuary who wants to influence pricing strategy and help shape the future of personal-lines insurance, we invite you to apply.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
