Neuberger is building a high-performance Secondary Data Strategy capability to strengthen data quality, analytical insight, and scalable reporting across its private markets secondaries platform. The team focuses on creating reliable, well-structured data assets that support investment workflows, underwriting, reporting, and broader business decision-making.

Position Overview:

The Private Markets Secondary Data Associate is a junior onshore hire for the Secondary Data Strategy team. This role is execution-focused, with primary responsibility for deal-economics structuring, pricing and underwriting database population, and GP and fund name normalization. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Capture, structure, and maintain deal-economics and underwriting-related data within designated databases and workflows.
  • Populate pricing and underwriting datasets accurately and consistently, supporting downstream analysis and reporting needs.
  • Normalize GP, fund, and related entity naming conventions to improve consistency across internal systems and outputs.
  • Review source materials and extract relevant financial and deal data with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Partner with the offshore counterpart to coordinate execution, resolve data inconsistencies, and maintain agreed standards for data quality.
  • Support ongoing updates and maintenance of structured data repositories used by investment and business stakeholders.
  • Escalate exceptions, ambiguous cases, and data quality issues appropriately while helping improve standard operating procedures.
  • Contribute to process efficiency by identifying repeatable data capture patterns and opportunities for structured workflow improvements.

Experience & Skills Qualifications:

  • 2–4+ years of relevant experience in data capture, financial data operations, investment data management, or a related function.
  • Strong data structuring capabilities and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with financial or deal-related data and comfort working with structured and semi-structured information sources.
  • Ability to manage high-volume data capture work while maintaining quality and consistency.
  • Strong organizational skills and a disciplined, execution-oriented approach to work.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with CapIQ, PitchBook, Preqin, and Bloomberg.
  • Proficiency in Excel and working familiarity with SQL, VBA and Python.
  • Exposure to private markets, alternative investments, or related financial datasets

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
