Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary liaison between the President of Editorial, internal teams, senior executives, talent, external partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Manage a complex and frequently changing calendar, prioritizing requests and adapting to breaking news and evolving editorial needs.
  • Manage editorial, strategic, and operational projects from planning through execution, coordinating timelines, deliverables, stakeholders, and follow-up.
  • Take ownership of high-priority assignments, identifying next steps and driving work forward with limited oversight.
  • Coordinate editorial board briefings and other high-level engagements, including research, invitations, response tracking, materials, and follow-up.
  • Draft and coordinate executive-level correspondence, invitations, briefing materials, and other communications for senior internal and external audiences.
  • Support major external initiatives and events, including conferences and global engagements such as Davos, coordinating communications, logistics, stakeholders, and deadlines.
  • Maintain strong awareness of the daily news cycle, breaking news, major stories, and editorial priorities to anticipate changing needs and support the President of Editorial effectively.
  • Manage incoming requests and communications, exercising sound judgment around prioritization and escalation.
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel, itineraries, logistics, and expense reporting.
  • Plan leadership meetings, briefings, events, and off-sites, including agendas, materials, communications, and logistics.
  • Conduct research on news topics, organizations, executives, external stakeholders, and prospective talent in support of meetings and initiatives.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of experience in news, editorial, project management, communications, and/or executive administrative support.
  • Experience managing executive calendars, schedules, travel, and related logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects involving multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and competing priorities.
  • Strong written communication skills, including experience drafting professional correspondence for executive or external audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience capturing detailed notes, identifying action items, and ensuring follow-through.
  • Strong digital research skills and comfort using technology to identify information, contacts, and solutions.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of and interest in news, current events, and the broader media landscape.
  • Must be willing to work in New York City.
  • Flexibility to work extended or irregular hours during breaking news and other high-priority periods.
  • Strong understanding of NBC News programming, talent, policies, and operations.

  • Highly proactive and execution-oriented, with the ability to anticipate needs, determine next steps, and drive multiple initiatives through completion.
  • Resourceful and enterprising problem-solver who can navigate ambiguity, conduct research, and develop solutions independently.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
