Job Summary

The Community Manager’s key objective is to concept and execute engagement strategies that aim to grow, strengthen and excite our growing community of players. This individual will be the hands-on owner of our community ecosystem, responsible for independently creating and managing content across all social media and Discord channels, with a specialized focus on Anime inspired games.

You will build direct relationships with players by actively engaging in discussions and addressing player feedback, utilizing your deep understanding of these specific genres and their unique community cultures. By leveraging social media metrics and data analysis, the Community Manager will work to develop ways to acquire new players, retain existing players and positively impact overall sentiment. As the voice of our players, you will also work closely with cross-functional teams to surface trends and discuss opportunities for improvement. The ideal candidate is a versatile multi-tasker who can manage everything from content posting to community moderation and data reporting to provide the highest quality experience for our players.

  • Execute social and community engagement initiatives across key communication channels, including social media, Discord, websites, and community forums.
  • Build, manage, and cultivate relationships with players, community leaders, content creators, fan artists, and influencers across platforms such as Discord, X, and other relevant social channels.
  • Write engaging content to promote game updates, events, campaigns, and community activities.
  • Develop and execute community engagement initiatives, including discussions, events, contests, polls, creator collaborations, and other interactive programs designed to increase user participation and retention.
  • Monitor player feedback, sentiment, trends, and community discussions, providing ongoing analysis and reporting to inform publishing, marketing, and game development decisions.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address community issues while creating opportunities to strengthen player engagement, loyalty, and advocacy.
  • Manage community concerns, questions, and escalations professionally while maintaining a player-first mindset.

Essential

  • Passion for games and strong knowledge of MMORPG, anime-inspired, and live-service gaming ecosystems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in social media writing, community management best practices, and audience engagement strategies.
  • Experience managing communities across platforms such as Discord, X, forums, and other social channels.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, take initiative, and maintain a "get things done" approach.
  • Ability to communicate authentically with highly engaged gaming and fandom communities.

Desirable

  • Analytical and curious, with an interest in exploring new ways to communicate, build community, and measure engagement.
  • Basic working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop.
  • Prior knowledge of NC games.
  • Experience working with content creators, influencers, fan communities, and community advocacy programs.
  • Familiarity with anime, Japanese gaming culture, Anime inspired game communities, fan culture, memes, and community-driven content trends.

Education & Experience What education, specialized training, is required to perform this job? How many years of directly related experience are required for the job? Can additional experience or education be substituted for all or part of requirement?

  • 2+ years of previous experience in a Community Management or similar role, preferably within the video games industry
  • Experience developing / executing content strategy across social media and web platforms

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone along with reaching. Moderate noise, ability to work in a confined area, and ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time are also included.
