Position Summary:

The Quality Auditor is responsible for evaluating completed products to ensure inventory classified as good meets established quality expectations before being stocked or shipped to customers. This role evaluates both functional performance and workmanship/cosmetic quality, helping ensure that products meet the standards expected of customer-ready inventory.

In addition to routine finished-goods audits, this position will support the evaluation and handling of special products or cases involving product-quality concerns, providing consistent inspection, documentation, and disposition of questionable inventory.

Key Responsibilities:

Finished Goods Quality Auditing

  • Perform audits of finished goods identified as ready for stocking or shipment.
  • Verify products meet established functional, cosmetic, and workmanship standards.
  • Inspect products for defects such as damage, improper assembly, poor fit or finish, contamination, missing components, labeling issues, or other conditions that could negatively affect the customer experience.
  • Ensure products classified as good inventory are representative of the quality level expected to be delivered to customers.
  • Identify and segregate products that do not meet established quality requirements.
  • Make consistent pass/fail determinations based on documented standards and quality expectations.

Quality Standards & Workmanship

  • Apply established workmanship and cosmetic standards consistently across products.
  • Recognize defects or conditions that may not affect functionality but make a product unacceptable as customer-ready inventory.
  • Help identify areas where existing quality standards are unclear, incomplete, or require additional definition.
  • Provide feedback on recurring workmanship issues and opportunities to improve overall finished-goods quality.

Special Product & Quality Reviews

  • Inspect and evaluate products requiring additional review due to unique or previously identified quality concerns.
  • Support special inspection requests, containment activities, quality holds, and targeted audits.
  • Assist with determining whether questionable inventory meets requirements for good stock or requires additional action.
  • Work with Operations, Repair, Engineering, or other applicable teams to evaluate unusual quality conditions when necessary.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Accurately document audit results, defects, and product-quality findings.
  • Categorize defects to support tracking and analysis of recurring quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspected products and audit outcomes.
  • Escalate significant or recurring quality concerns to appropriate leadership.
  • Provide clear feedback to operational teams regarding observed quality issues and trends.

Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize subtle cosmetic and workmanship defects.
  • Ability to apply quality standards consistently and objectively.
  • Good understanding of product functionality, assembly, repair, or manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to distinguish between functional acceptance and overall customer-ready quality.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally.
  • Comfortable making independent quality decisions while escalating ambiguous or significant issues appropriately.
  • Experience in repair operations, manufacturing, quality assurance, inspection, or a related environment preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
