Who We Are Looking For ✏️

Rocket.Chat is looking for a hands-on, results-driven Marketing Manager to run marketing for the defense and intelligence sector in North America. Experience marketing to defense and intelligence audiences is required, and a military background is a strong plus. This is an individual contributor and full-stack marketing role with a strong focus on channel partner marketing: most of our pipeline in this region is created with and through partners, so you will spend much of your time finding joint opportunities, running co-marketing programs, and helping partners sell Rocket.Chat. You will work side by side with our sales team, understand which accounts and programs they are targeting, and adjust the marketing strategy to match. Alongside partner work, you will run paid digital (LinkedIn Ads, Google Ads, Reddit), social media, content, email and newsletters, and partner-led events, using AI to move faster across all of it.

Mandatory Hard Skills 🎯

  • 4+ years of B2B or B2G technology marketing, with a strong focus on channel and partner marketing in the defense and intelligence industry
  • Proven experience marketing to US defense, military and intelligence organizations, with a solid understanding of how they buy, who the key primes and integrators are, and the language operators and program offices use.
  • Proven track record running co-marketing programs with system integrators, resellers, or technology alliances that generated measurable pipeline.
  • Hands-on experience running paid campaigns on LinkedIn, Google, Reddit, and AI search.
  • Full-stack marketing skills across paid digital, social, content, email and newsletters, and events.
  • Practical, everyday use of AI tools for content, video, research, and campaign work.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation and sales tools (e.g., HubSpot, Apollo), CRM (e.g., Zoho), and analytics (e.g., Google Analytics).
  • Ability to write clear, mission-focused messaging for defense and intelligence buyers.
  • Turning our messaging into sales presentations, materials, content, and RFI and proposal responses.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to run several initiatives at once with little supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.

Desirable Hard Skills 💕

  • US military veteran, prior service or civilian work in the DoD or Intelligence Community.
  • Active security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience marketing secure communications or other mission-critical technology.
  • Established relationships within the defense contractor and partner ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with defense procurement, contracting vehicles, and security and compliance requirements.
  • Experience creating or editing video content.

Soft Skills ✨

  • Passion: Genuine enthusiasm for what you do and how it contributes to our company's mission;
  • Dream: Proactively seek out opportunities and challenges to achieve extraordinary results. If you're someone who takes initiative and is always striving to improve, you'll fit right in;
  • Own: Take ownership of your work, set high standards for yourself, and be accountable for outcomes, demonstrating a strong sense of responsibility and commitment;
  • Trust: Recognizing the importance of trust and support and actively working towards a collaborative and inclusive workplace;
  • Share: Communicating openly and transparently ensures clarity and honesty in interactions.

What You'll Do 🖥️

Partner and Channel Marketing

  • Own co-marketing with Rocket.Chat's key partners in NORAM, including system integrators, resellers, and technology alliances serving defense and intelligence.
  • Identify opportunities for joint activities (campaigns, webinars, events, content, offers) and turn them into pipeline.
  • Build close relationships with partner marketing and sales teams to understand gaps and opportunities for pipeline creation.
  • Run a regular partner newsletter and keep partners up to date on product news, campaigns, and enablement materials.
  • Create partner and customer-facing materials such as collateral and presentations aligned with Rocket.Chat's value proposition.
  • Manage Market Development Funds by overseeing the allocation and use of MDF in line with joint marketing objectives.

Sales Enablement and Alignment

  • Stay very close to the sales team and keep a regular cadence with them to understand which accounts, programs, and personas they are targeting.
  • Adjust the marketing strategy and campaigns based on what sales and partners see in the field.
  • Support sales in creating materials, RFI and RFP responses, proposals, and presentations.

Digital Marketing

  • Plan, run, and optimize paid campaigns on LinkedIn, Google, Bing, Reddit, and AI search targeting defense and intelligence audiences.
  • Manage Rocket.Chat's social media presence for the sector in the region, with a focus on LinkedIn.
  • Run a customer and partner-facing newsletter.
  • Analyze campaign performance against KPIs such as pipeline, ROI, lead conversion, and engagement.

Content and Video

  • Create content for defense and intelligence audiences: blog posts, case studies, solution briefs, one-pagers, and social content.
  • Assist in video creation, from short social clips to product and partner videos.

Field Marketing

  • Plan and execute events, mostly together with partners, including trade shows, conferences, webinars, and briefings.
  • Own the event cycle from pre-event promotion to post-event follow-up, with a focus on meetings booked and pipeline created.

AI-Enabled Marketing

  • Use AI tools across the role to work faster and at higher quality: content and video creation, campaign setup, research, sales materials, RFI responses, and reporting.
  • Find and share new ways for the team to use AI in day-to-day marketing work.

Collaboration

  • Work with internal teams, including sales, product, and the wider marketing team, to align initiatives with business goals.
  • Manage external vendors, such as design agencies and event organizers, when needed.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
