TLDR

We are hiring a VP of Engineering to lead Neon’s engineering team and enable the CTO to focus on strategically scaling the company. This leader will own execution across engineering, build and mentor a world-class team, and ensure we continue shipping high-quality products at startup speed. The timeline to hire is by early 2026.

JOBS TO BE DONE

Lead Neon’s engineering function to support rapid product innovation and scale.

- Own engineering execution: Ensure products are shipped reliably, securely, and at startup velocity.

- Build the team: Recruit, mentor, and retain exceptional engineers.

- Develop processes: Create systems that balance speed with quality as we grow.

- Partner with product and GTM: Align engineering with customer needs and market demands.

- Scale infrastructure: Guide technical architecture to support growth.

- Enable the CTO: Take ownership of day-to-day engineering so the CTO can focus on company-level strategy.

EXPERIENCE

We’re looking for someone who has excelled in engineering leadership roles at high-growth startups.

- Proven experience managing and scaling engineering teams.

- Background in enterprise SaaS or AI-driven platforms.

- Experience building reliable, secure, and scalable systems.

- Track record of aligning engineering execution with business outcomes.

- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous startup environments.

REQUIRED TOOLS

You will be expected to leverage modern engineering and collaboration tools:

- Cloud platforms (AWS)

- Development frameworks and languages (Python, Node.js, TypeScript, etc.)

- CI/CD, testing, and monitoring systems

- Collaboration tools (Notion, Slack, Jira, GitHub)
