The Industrial Designer at Warrior Sports demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of the entire design process and is self-motivated and collaborative. This role involves identifying design problems and consistently generating creative solutions to enhance the performance and aesthetics of products across multiple categories, including Lacrosse Heads, Protective equipment, and accessories. The designer will create engaging product families that share technologies, manufacturing processes, and a common design language.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

RESEARCH:

  • Take a strategic and curious approach to researching competitor products and understanding player problems and unmet needs to identify new opportunities for breakthrough innovation.

CREATE:

  • Design meaningful, player-driven lacrosse hardgoods and softgoods, from ideation to early concepts and innovation through 2D & 3D development, and commercialization. Transform conceptual ideas into tangible design proposals that solve problems while considering functionality, visual brand language, and user experience to bring an edge!

COLLABORATE:

  • Work closely with Senior designers, developers, engineers, and product managers to align concepts with product briefs and push the boundaries. Work with Graphic and Marketing support to aid in visual development and help support the product story to consumers.

COMMUNICATE:

  • Prepare detailed technical packets using adobe illustrator or SolidWorks that effectively communicate designs to manufacturers. Some Travel to Asia, Canada, and Mexico may be required.

DELIVER:

  • Partner with developers and the engineering team members to evaluate product samples and drive design intent through production.

MAINTAIN:

  • Maintain product position in the market by updating in-line projects & supporting cross-functional needs. Maintain expertise in injection molding and soft good manufacturing processes, focusing on quality control and efficiency. Stay current on new technologies and innovations within the industry.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial design or equivalent
  • Industrial designer: 1 to 3 years of experience
  • Ability to sketch and render ideas through various means
  • General understanding of injection molding and softgoods design constraints
  • Ability to create prototypes / mockups to validate design concepts
  • Must possess excellent communication and presentation skills, both visually and verbally
  • Ability to multi-task and move between highly diverse projects
  • Competent in the following programs:Adobe Illustrator SolidWorks
  • Basic knowledge of the following programs:Adobe Photoshop Keyshot or equivalent Vizcom or equivalent Ai tool integration Microsoft Suite
