Sales Compensation Analyst
New Relic | Job Description
About the Role
New Relic is looking for a Sales Commission Analyst to work with and report to the Senior Manager, Sales Commission. This position will be part of the Sales Commission team, calculating monthly commissions accurately and timely, working with our Sales Compensation tool Xactly Incent, and serving as the go-to commissions business partner for various sales leaders and their organizations. The successful candidate should be a fast learner with high attention to detail and structured in their approach. They should be able to manage multiple assignments/requests/processes concurrently, prioritizing accordingly, and delivering timely results and collaborate effectively with internal end-users and cross-functional teams to implement simple solutions to complex problems at a high standard.
Key Job Responsibilities
• Commission & Compensation Management
– Ensure timely and accurate calculations and recording of monthly commission payments and SPIFFs for sales incentive employees based on Sales Compensation plan provisions.
– Calculate and process monthly commission payments using both a Google Sheets-based commissions model and the Sales Compensation System (Xactly Incent).
– Manage Leave of Absence (LOA) processing and SDR team commissions.
– Log, track, and resolve incoming Sales Compensation inquiries across shared communication channels, including the team mailbox and dedicated Slack channels, to ensure SLA compliance.
• Xactly Administration & System Setup
– Develop a deep understanding of sales compensation policy, systems (Xactly), and reporting tools to meet sales compensation SLAs.
– Work with team to implement sales compensation platform updates and Xactly setups to reflect sales hierarchy, plan rules, rate tables, quotas, etc. in Xactly.
– Perform audits to ensure data integrity between Xactly Incent and commission plan documents.
• Plan Documentation & Compliance
– Administer and manage Plan Documents and Management By Objectives (MBOs).
– Distribute, track, and report on the status of Commission Plan acceptance to ensure compliance and timeliness.
• Data Management & Roster Support
– Oversee administrative management of the Global Sales Roster and Master File
– Execute BCM Data pulls as required.
– Retrieve and analyze data using Google Sheets, Excel, Salesforce.com, Tableau, and other data/BI platforms.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Optimization
– Collaborate with the People team, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, and Payroll teams to process new hires, terminations, promotions, and transfers within Xactly Incent in line with plan policies and audit guidelines.
– Leverage AI tools and modern technologies to automate existing workflows, streamline operations, and drive process efficiency.
– Provide analytical support and ad-hoc research on related variable pay projects as identified by management.
Your Qualifications
• Education & Experience
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
– 3–5 years of working experience in sales compensation and analysis
• Technical & Platform Skills
– Strong knowledge of sales incentive compensation concepts, sales data tracking processes, and methodologies
– Hands-on experience using Xactly Incent platform and Salesforce
– Proficient with Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and Microsoft Office
• Core Competencies
– Excellent problem-solving capabilities, extremely detail-oriented, highly organized, and above-average analytical skills
– Excellent verbal, analytical, written communication, and interpersonal skills
– Comfortability with ambiguous problems, curiosity, willingness to ask questions, and ability to deliver results under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
– Self-starter with exemplary organizational skills and a positive, 'can-do' attitude
– Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional, cross-departmental, and virtual teams
Location: Bangalore(Remote)
Work Timings: Able to work rotating shift schedules, supporting US hours (5:00 PM – 2:00 AM IST) during the first half of the month and EMEA hours (2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST) during the second half.
• Weeks 1 & 2: 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM IST (US Shift)
• Weeks 3 & 4: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST (UK/EMEA Shift)
Flexibility & Peak Hours: Please note that extended working hours may occasionally be required during quarter-close periods. Additionally, Q1 (Fiscal year starting Apr) involves a higher workload due to the annual GTM plan roll-out, including key activities such as User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and bulk plan document distribution.
