The posting

We are a global team of innovators and pioneers dedicated to shaping the future of observability. At New Relic, we build an intelligent platform that empowers companies to thrive in an AI-first world by giving them unparalleled insight into their complex systems. As we continue to expand our global footprint, we're looking for passionate people to join our mission. If you're ready to help the world's best companies optimize their digital applications, we invite you to explore a career with us!

Your Opportunity

Are you passionate about building foundational technology that fuels the world’s digital innovation? At New Relic, we provide the leading unified data platform for all things observability – helping engineers, developers, and operators make decisions using data at every stage of the software lifecycle. Our New Relic Control team is at the heart of that mission, creating groundbreaking capabilities that orchestrate, manage, and optimize observability agents and telemetry pipelines at scale.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead a new strategic initiative within our Pipeline Control team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for defining vision, strategy, and roadmap for an enterprise-grade solution that orchestrates observability pipelines to streamline telemetry data in flight. You'll collaborate closely with engineering and product design to solve complex challenges around instrumentation, configuration, and data management with new systems and experiences. If you love turning ambitious ideas into impactful enterprise products that delight customers, let's talk!

What You'll Do

  • Define and drive the product strategy for our next-generation observability pipelines solution and align your vision with broader company goals
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Product Design, Sales, and Marketing to translate customer insights and technical opportunities into impactful product capabilities
  • Evangelize the product vision internally and externally, providing thought leadership on how modern observability practices can transform DevOps efficiency and drive customer value
  • Engage deeply in technical design discussions around distributed systems, client-server architectures, cloud native stacks, OpenTelemetry, and advanced instrumentation workflows, leveraging your strong engineering or equivalent background
  • Steer end-to-end product development from concept through launch, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery, continuous iteration, and measurable business success
  • Champion product excellence by setting high standards for design, user experience, security, and performance while addressing complex enterprise needs at scale
  • Coach and influence the broader product and engineering teams as a subject-matter expert with clear priorities, measurable goals, and unwavering focus on customer success

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in the Developer / DevOps / Software industry with 3+ years as a software engineer or equivalent and 4+ years in product management, with hands-on software development or equivalent background
  • Proven track record of leading complex, highly technical products through the full development lifecycle, ideally in an enterprise of B2B context
  • Deep understanding of client-server architectures (Linux, Windows), cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, containers, microservices), and modern software development practices
  • Familiarity with observability concepts such as metrics, logs, traces, instrumentation, data pipelines, OpenTelemetry, and/or related platforms is a strong plus
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to distill intricate engineering details into compelling product narratives for diverse audiences of both engineering and non-technical stakeholders
  • Customer-obsessed mindset, always seeking ways to solve real-world customer challenges and deliver the best possible user experience
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, adept at influencing cross-functional teams and aligning multiple stakeholders towards a common vision with clear, measurable outcomes
  • Passion for innovation and an energy to navigate uncharted territory, a willingness to guide teams through ambiguous design phases, and a drive to shape the future of observability at scale

Why You'll Love Working at New Relic

  • Impactful Mission: Join us in building the next wave of innovative observability solutions that empower teams worldwide with data to build better software, faster
  • Leading-Edge Tech: Work on forward-thinking initiatives at the leading edge of modern observability, DevOps, and cloud-native ecosystems
  • Collaborative Culture: Thrive in an environment with talented colleagues with an inclusive, mission-driven team that values growth, ownership, and continuous learning
  • Growth Opportunities: Access to coaching, mentorship, skill development programs, career pathways, and the chance to lead a newly forming product area

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
