The posting

Our client is looking for a Financial Reporting Specialist to produce timely, consistent financial statements across the group in line with group policies and accounting standards. The role is hands-on, covering financial reporting, general accounting, fixed-asset management, and month-end close, while also guiding team members and supporting audits and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly reporting submissions in Hyperion
  • Prepare trial balances, balance-sheet schedules, and supporting schedules for consolidation
  • Reconcile intercompany balances and investigate discrepancies
  • Analyze financial statements and explain month-on-month movements and variances

General Accounting & Month-End Close

  • Handle general ledger activities: maintain journal control lists; post and review BlackLine standard journals (AJDs); prepare and post manual journals
  • Process accruals (BlackLine and manual), including cost-center allocation for shared expenses
  • Manage prepayments, depreciation (fixed assets & ROU), and ROU lease liabilities
  • Process intercompany journals (BlackLine and manual) and procurement-card journals from other workstreams
  • Prepare and post period-end adjustments: payroll-related bank entries (salary, bonus, CPF, FWL, unposted receipts/payments); provisions for doubtful debts, warranty, and stock obsolescence; treasury shares; current and deferred tax provisions; foreign currency revaluation

Fixed Assets & Right-of-Use Assets

  • Oversee fixed-asset and ROU accounting in line with group policies
  • Coordinate asset sighting exercises—prepare asset tags, generate and circulate sighting lists and instruction memos
  • Process asset requests, including capitalization, transfers, and disposals
  • Monitor fixed-asset budget utilization and follow up on variances
  • Prepare standard and ad-hoc fixed-asset reports and supporting schedules

Planning & Management Accounting Support

  • Support cost accounting, project costing, and cost-control activities
  • Process journals from business partners
  • Perform inter-departmental cost allocations for support and shared-service centers

Forecasting, Budgeting & Year-End Close

  • Prepare budgeting and forecasting templates and input data into Hyperion
  • Support budget monitoring and variance analysis
  • Carry out year-end close: accruals for external vendor invoices not recorded in Procure-to-Pay; prepare year-end consolidation schedules; execute year-end rollover in SAP

Audit & Stakeholder Support

  • Support external audits and internal reviews by preparing schedules and responding to queries
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting issues
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and reporting deadlines

Team Support

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and on-the-job coaching to junior team members
  • Act as a subject-matter resource for accounting and reporting matters
  • Support process improvements and standardization initiatives

Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent from a reputable university
  • Professional qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 6 years of financial reporting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead capacity
  • Hands-on experience with SAP FICO, Oracle Hyperion, BlackLine, and advanced Excel
  • Hands-on experience with Power BI (or similar) for financial dashboards, data visualization, automated reports, or management insights
  • Demonstrated track record of improving financial reporting or close processes (e.g., reducing manual effort, shortening close timelines, standardizing reporting)
  • Practical exposure to automation, digitalization, or AI-enabled initiatives in finance or reporting is highly desirable

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Strong interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with stakeholders and guide the team to meet delivery goals
  • Able to work independently while leading by example to meet tight reporting timelines
  • Willing to support regional operations across different time zones and meet calendar-day deadlines with flexible off days

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
