This role combines hands-on software engineering with Agile project coordination, application modernization, and collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

  • Modernize existing applications by assessing codebases, mapping data models, and executing phased migrations while preserving functionality and data integrity.
  • Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable applications using object-oriented programming, client-side frameworks, and relational databases.
  • Coordinate multiple development initiatives, manage competing priorities, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs to connect applications and services.
  • Troubleshoot application issues and provide ongoing technical support for business systems.
  • Design and optimize relational database schemas, queries, and data access components.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain business intelligence reports.
  • Write user stories, deliver features through Agile sprints, demonstrate completed work, and facilitate standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Use Git branching strategies and code reviews to support collaborative development.
  • Support containerized applications and CI/CD processes.
  • Track and report delivery metrics, including cycle time, lead time, and burndown.

Required Experience

  • At least five years within the past seven years of application development experience covering:
  • Object-oriented development, such as .NET, Java, or Ruby on Rails. Client-side scripting and frameworks, such as JavaScript, React, or jQuery. Mobile development, such as .NET MAUI or React Native. Apple development using Swift. Relational databases, such as SQL Server, MySQL, or Oracle.
  • At least one year of professional Git experience using defined branching strategies.
  • At least two years developing, enhancing, and supporting business intelligence reports using tools such as Power BI, Crystal Reports, or Cognos.
  • At least three years within the past seven years delivering features through Agile sprints, demonstrating work to stakeholders, and facilitating Agile ceremonies.
  • At least one year providing onsite technical support for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) systems.

Technical Qualifications

  • Strong application development skills using technologies such as C#, ASP.NET Core, .NET 8+, Entity Framework, Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Ruby on Rails, Ruby Gems, Rails APIs, and WebSockets.
  • Proficiency in client-side technologies such as JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, or React.
  • Hands-on experience with relational database development, schema design, query optimization, and object-relational mapping.
  • Strong knowledge of RESTful API design, development, and integration.
  • Experience with application migration, including code analysis, data mapping, and phased implementation.
  • Experience with containerization platforms such as OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline setup and management.
  • Experience managing development work through Azure DevOps or Jira.

Additional Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, driving assignments from planning through completion.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Ability to navigate competing stakeholder priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and evolving development practices.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Additional qualifying experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
