The posting

DWC Mechanical | Western New York Full-Time | Base Salary: $70,000–$100,000 annually, based on experience

Build Relationships. Win Projects. Help Businesses Move Forward.

DWC Mechanical is seeking an HVAC Project & Construction Sales Executive to grow our commercial HVAC project business through new customer development, strong industry relationships, and practical mechanical solutions.

For over 30 years, DWC Mechanical has served Western New York’s commercial HVAC needs. This is an opportunity to help expand that business by connecting building owners, facility leaders, property managers, and general contractors with the expertise they need for HVAC installations, equipment replacements, retrofits, and construction projects.

You’ll own the sales process from prospecting and initial site visits through proposal development, negotiation, and project handoff. Working closely with estimating, project management, and technical teams, you’ll help turn customer needs into clearly defined, competitively priced, profitable projects.

This position offers a $70,000–$110,000 annual base salary, along with clear expectations for business development, customer relationships, and sales results.

Responsibilities

New Business Development & Customer Relationships

  • Identify and pursue commercial HVAC project and construction opportunities through targeted outreach, networking, referrals, and existing customer relationships.
  • Build relationships with building owners, facility managers, property managers, general contractors, and other purchasing decision-makers.
  • Understand customers’ equipment challenges, operating priorities, budgets, and project timelines.
  • Develop opportunities for HVAC installations, replacements, retrofits, system upgrades, and related mechanical work.
  • Partner with service teams to pursue project opportunities identified through inspections, maintenance visits, and customer conversations.

Project Development, Estimating & Proposals

  • Conduct site visits and participate in project walkthroughs and bid meetings to understand scope and field conditions.
  • Review plans, specifications, and customer requirements with estimating and technical teams.
  • Develop estimates, quotations, and proposals that clearly communicate scope, pricing, exclusions, and customer value.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to validate equipment selections, labor assumptions, subcontractor needs, and installation requirements.
  • Present solutions in terms customers understand, including reliability, comfort, operating costs, and long-term equipment performance.
  • Manage follow-up, address objections, and negotiate within approved pricing and contract guidelines.

Sales Execution & Project Coordination

  • Maintain an active sales pipeline with accurate opportunity values, next steps, and expected award dates.
  • Meet established sales and profitability goals while keeping CRM records and forecasts current.
  • Coordinate a thorough handoff to project management, including agreed scope, customer commitments, schedules, and relevant site information.
  • Stay engaged with customers during project delivery to support communication and identify future opportunities.
  • Represent DWC professionally at customer meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of B2B sales or business development experience, preferably in commercial HVAC, mechanical contracting, construction, or related building services.
  • Demonstrated success generating new business, developing proposals, and closing project-based sales.
  • Working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, systems, and installation applications.
  • Ability to understand project requirements and collaborate on accurate scopes and estimates.
  • A proactive approach to prospecting, consistent follow-through, and confidence engaging decision-makers.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and maintaining accurate CRM records.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with estimating and operations.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally to customer sites and industry events.

Preferred: Existing relationships in Western New York’s commercial building or construction market; experience selling HVAC replacements, retrofits, or construction projects; and familiarity with bid processes, mechanical plans, and specifications.

Candidates with strong HVAC estimating or project management experience and demonstrated customer-development skills are also encouraged to apply.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
