  • Identify electrical, mechanical, refrigerant, and controls-related issues and recommend appropriate corrective action.
  • Serve as a technical resource for other technicians, helping resolve difficult service calls and recurring equipment problems.
  • Support complex repairs and help verify that equipment operates properly before work is considered complete.
  • Communicate findings, repair recommendations, and equipment concerns clearly to customers and service leadership.

Technician Development & Quality

  • Mentor apprentices and less-experienced technicians through hands-on guidance and troubleshooting support.
  • Reinforce consistent standards for workmanship, safety, documentation, and customer service.
  • Help identify training needs and support technicians in building their skills and independence.
  • Assist with reviewing completed work and resolving callbacks to improve service quality.
  • Lead by example through reliability, professionalism, accountability, and follow-through.

Field Coordination & Customer Support

  • Coordinate with the Service Manager and dispatch team on job priorities, technical support needs, and field challenges.
  • Communicate parts requirements, repair status, follow-up needs, and potential delays promptly.
  • Help ensure technicians have the information, tools, and materials needed to complete assigned work.
  • Build trusted relationships with facility personnel, property managers, and other customer contacts.
  • Help resolve customer concerns and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure proper care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.

Growth Toward Field Manager

As you develop in the role, you’ll work with service leadership to take on greater responsibility for:

  • Day-to-day field coordination and technician support.
  • Coaching, onboarding, and development of service technicians.
  • Monitoring workmanship, productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Addressing escalated service issues and reducing repeat visits.
  • Improving communication between technicians, dispatch, and service management.

Progression will be based on demonstrated technical judgment, leadership ability, communication, performance, and business needs.

  • Working knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment, electrical systems, refrigeration, and controls.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage service priorities effectively.
  • Clear communication and a professional, customer-focused approach.
  • Willingness to remain hands-on while gradually taking on broader leadership responsibilities.
  • A genuine interest in developing into field management.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
