Candidates should be comfortable working independently in a smaller team environment, managing mixed inpatient and outpatient caseloads, and collaborating with physicians and hospital leadership to improve patient outcomes and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations, clinical performance, and overall management of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation services.
  • Provide direct supervision, clinical guidance, and ongoing support to Physical Therapists (PTs) and Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs).
  • Conduct physical therapy evaluations, establish individualized treatment plans, and provide direct patient care as needed.
  • Manage rehabilitation services across inpatient swing-bed and outpatient therapy settings, ensuring appropriate staffing and continuity of care.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate rehabilitation treatment programs to improve patient mobility, functional independence, and recovery outcomes.
  • Monitor clinical quality, patient outcomes, departmental productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, hospital administration, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
  • Oversee departmental budgeting, resource allocation, staffing needs, and operational planning.
  • Ensure compliance with Arkansas state regulations, federal healthcare requirements, facility policies, and professional practice standards.
  • Support staff development through coaching, performance evaluations, clinical mentorship, and ongoing education.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using the facility's electronic medical record system.
  • Educate patients and caregivers regarding rehabilitation goals, treatment plans, mobility techniques, and home exercise programs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve rehabilitation workflows, treatment efficiency, patient satisfaction, and departmental performance.
  • Adapt to changing patient volumes and clinical priorities while maintaining effective therapy operations in a smaller healthcare environment.

  • Education: Physical Therapy education meeting Arkansas licensure requirements.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of management or supervisory experience in a physical therapy or rehabilitation setting.
  • Licensure: Active Arkansas Physical Therapist (PT) license.
  • Certifications: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • NPI: Must have an active National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
  • Clinical Skills: Experience performing physical therapy evaluations, developing treatment plans, and managing rehabilitation patient care.

  • Communication: Strong interpersonal communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient education skills.
  • Operational Skills: Strong time management, organizational abilities, and adaptability across mixed rehabilitation settings.
  • Independent Practice: Ability to work independently and provide leadership within a smaller clinical team.
  • Additional Requirements: Must provide required flu vaccination and immunization records.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a rural hospital or critical access hospital setting.
  • Experience managing rehabilitation services across both inpatient swing-bed and outpatient settings.
  • TruBridge / CPSI EMR experience strongly preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
