Position Overview

We are seeking two experienced Radiologic Technologists to join the diagnostic imaging team at a 12-bed Critical Access Hospital in International Falls, Minnesota.

In this role, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple modalities, with a primary focus on general radiography and computed tomography (CT). Candidates must have previous CT experience but are not required to hold CT certification at the time of hire. However, CT certification must be obtained within the first year of employment. Depending on departmental needs and qualifications, technologists may also provide coverage in MRI, Mammography, DEXA, and Fluoroscopy.

This opportunity is ideal for a versatile Radiologic Technologist who enjoys working in a smaller hospital environment, values exposure to multiple imaging modalities, and is interested in expanding their clinical skills through cross-training. The position offers a full-time schedule, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to serve a close-knit community in northern Minnesota.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality diagnostic radiographic examinations in accordance with physician orders, established imaging protocols, and patient safety standards.
  • Conduct computed tomography (CT) examinations, ensuring appropriate patient positioning, imaging techniques, and diagnostic image quality.
  • Operate and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment, including general X-ray and CT systems.
  • Provide coverage across additional imaging modalities, including MRI, Mammography, DEXA, and Fluoroscopy, based on training, qualifications, and departmental needs.
  • Participate in cross-training opportunities to expand clinical competency across multiple imaging services.
  • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explain examinations, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the imaging process.
  • Apply appropriate radiation protection practices, infection prevention protocols, and imaging safety procedures.
  • Evaluate imaging results for technical quality and determine whether additional images are necessary.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate timely diagnostic services.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, imaging documentation, and examination details using the facility's electronic medical record system.
  • Support imaging services across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care settings as needed.
  • Participate in rotating weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage, maintaining the ability to report to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call.
  • Assist with departmental quality assurance, equipment maintenance, and compliance with applicable imaging regulations.
  • Adapt to changing patient volumes and imaging priorities while maintaining efficient operations within a Critical Access Hospital environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or a related imaging field.
  • Experience: Previous hands-on CT imaging experience required.
  • Certifications: Active ARRT certification in Radiography (R) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR).
  • BLS: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification.
  • CT Certification: Must obtain CT certification within the first year of employment. CT certification is not required at the time of hire.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to perform diagnostic imaging procedures, operate radiographic equipment, and maintain appropriate image quality.
  • Clinical Flexibility: Willingness to float between imaging modalities based on departmental needs, training, and qualifications.
  • On-Call Availability: Must be able to report to the hospital within 30 minutes when on call.
  • Scheduling Flexibility: Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call assignments.
  • Additional Requirements: Strong communication, patient care, organizational, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current ARRT CT certification.
  • Previous experience performing MRI and Mammography examinations.
  • Experience or willingness to cross-train in DEXA, Fluoroscopy, and additional imaging modalities.
  • Familiarity with Epic EMR and digital imaging documentation systems.
  • Strong general computer proficiency.
  • Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital, rural hospital, or small multidisciplinary imaging department.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize imaging requests, and adapt to changing patient care needs.
  • Interest in expanding clinical competencies through ongoing education and cross-training opportunities.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
