Job Description:

Position Summary

The Senior Facilities Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day facilities' soft services operations across Nextpower’s U.S. offices, ensuring each location is clean, functional, well-supported, and ready for daily business operations.

The role leads site-based office operations personnel and manages the delivery of facilities soft services, including reception and front-of-house operations, janitorial and day porter services, pantry and food services, office supplies, mail and shipping, conference and common-area readiness, waste and recycling, and other day-to-day office services.

The Senior Facilities Operations Manager works closely with Facilities Managers who retain responsibility for hard facilities and technical building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, building controls, infrastructure, etc. This position coordinates the operational impact of that work and ensures continuity of office operations but does not replace the technical responsibilities of the Facilities Managers.

The role partners with Facilities, Real Estate, IT, EHS, Security, Procurement, HR and landlords/property managers among others to maintain consistent facilities service standards across the U.S. portfolio.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in facilities operations, facilities services, corporate office operations, building services, or multi-site facilities environments.
  • 5+ years of experience managing Office Managers, facilities coordinators, reception/front-of-house teams, day porters, or other site-based facilities operations personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the day-to-day operation and service delivery of corporate offices, including reception, janitorial, pantry/food service, office supplies, mail/shipping, conference rooms, common areas, and other facilities soft services.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining consistent facilities operating standards, service levels, procedures, and inspection programs across multiple locations.
  • Strong experience managing facilities service vendors, contracts, performance, service levels, and corrective actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staffing, scheduling, coverage, employee performance, accountability, and development of site operations teams.
  • Experience working closely with IT, EHS, HR and Facilities Managers on r hard-facilities issues.
  • Ability to recognize facilities issues, determine the appropriate escalation path, coordinate with technical resources, communicate impacts to office occupants, and follow issues through resolution.
  • Experience coordinating office moves, restacks, openings, expansions, renovations, furniture changes, and other facilities-related operational changes.
  • Experience managing facilities operating budgets, purchase orders, invoices, vendor contracts, forecasts, and operating expenses.
  • Strong service orientation combined with the ability to maintain operational standards, accountability, consistency, and cost control.
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills with the ability to work effectively with employees, executives, Facilities Managers, landlords, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Highly organized, hands-on, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple locations and competing operational priorities.
  • Ability to travel regularly among assigned U.S. facilities.

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is $150,000.00-$1700,000.00.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
