As an Industrial Security – Manager Level 3 located in Linthicum, MD, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
The Industrial Security Manager – Level 3 will serve as the Business Unit Security Manager and oversee all security activities and operations across multiple geographically dispersed locations. This role includes guiding both briefed and non briefed personnel across all security functions and interfacing with internal and external leadership.
The successful candidate will coordinate and collaborate with a team of security professionals located across multiple sites, ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations and company requirements. They will drive excellence in the execution of security milestones across multiple disciplines (DoD, SAP, and SCI), maintain program security metrics, and effectively manage competing priorities.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, administering, and continuously improving security programs and procedures for classified and proprietary materials, documents, and equipment.
In this job, you will:
- Study, interpret, and implement federal security regulations that apply to company operations
- Obtain rulings, interpretations, and acceptable deviations from government agencies to support compliance with applicable regulations
- Prepare manuals outlining security regulations and establish procedures for handling, storing, and maintaining records
- Manage access control, granting personnel and visitors access to restricted documents, materials, and areas in accordance with approved procedures
- Plan and oversee internal security reviews and audits
- Investigate potential and confirmed security violations and prepare reports specifying corrective and preventive actions
- Provide direction and guidance to security team members in executing their assigned scope of work
- Support team members’ professional development and growth through coaching, feedback, and development planning
- Lead a team of security professionals, consistently modeling the leadership characteristics expected of all employees within the organization
- Promote employee engagement across the team and foster a positive, inclusive work environment
- Collaborate across programs and functions within the organization to ensure integrated, consistent security execution
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and professional development support to security professionals at all levels
- Develop and implement security standards and procedures across the program, aligned with enterprise requirements
- Ensure all program security performance objectives, milestones, and deliverables are met
- Manage security compliance and operations across multiple functional areas, including Physical Security (PHYSEC), Communications Security (COMSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), Contract Security, Investigations, and Document Control Management
- Ensure ethical conduct and balanced results, with a focus on partner and customer satisfaction
- Respect and nurture growth, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Build collaborative, high‑performing teams and strong customer trust
- Communicate clearly, champion excellence, and embrace change in a dynamic environment
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of professional experience including people management experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of professional experience including people management experience. Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.
- Requires an active Top-Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time
- Minimum of two years of management, supervisory, or other demonstrated leadership experience
- In‑depth knowledge of:32 CFR Part 117 (NISPOM) Joint Air Force, Army, and Navy (JAFAN) publications Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) DoD manuals and other related security requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current Polygraph
- Experience in managing Industrial Security programs and teams
- Experience in managing geographically disbursed teams – both direct reports and matrixed employees
- Ability to execute Security and Program Management concepts

Northrop Grumman Total Rewards
Primary Level Salary Range: $152,300.00 - $228,500.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
