Northrop Grumman’s Air Dominance Division (ADD) is seeking a Principal Engineer Electronics position. This role researches and develops sustainment solutions and/or new technologies to support, replace, and/or retrofit avionics equipment and components. As an engineer supporting Avionics, you are also responsible for the implementation of identified solutions, internal cross-functional coordination, as well as oversight of technical.
This position will be located onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.
Responsibilities:
• Research, design, develop, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including power generation, communications, flight controls, networks, radar, navigation, weapons systems, etc.
• Serve as a Responsible Engineer and supplier technical interface for assigned programs.
• Ensure complex analog/digital circuitry components and (sub)systems meet Technical Performance Metrics by executing verification/validation activities with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Investigate different components to replace or improve legacy designs and/or mitigate technical challenges.
• Comprehend and analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
• Report technical status, challenges, impacts, and mitigations to leadership and customers.
• Lead technical interchange meetings, root cause failures, and support program reviews.
• Coordinate with the Technical Review Board to implement design, specification, and/or test changes.
• Coordinate with engineering and program management to ensure program execution and technical requirements are met.
• Support other programs and teams executing technical activities, when needed.
• Support assessment of cost and schedule impacts of technical decisions.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of related experience; OR a Masters degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience; OR a PhD in a STEM discipline with 1 years of related experience
• Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance and Special Program Access (SAP)
• Strong understanding of electronics systems and electrical concepts, e.g., EMI.
• Ability to troubleshoot systems to resolve issues, propose solutions, and communicate progress.
• Some knowledge and experience with qualification and environmental testing required for flight equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with Nuclear, EMI, and Reliability disciplines.
• Airborne platform integration requirements experience.
• Experience with LabView, SPICE, or other data collection and electronic modeling tools.
• Working knowledge of Earned Value, with exposure to Cost Account Management principles.
• Experience in an Agile development environment.
• Active DoD SECRET clearance, within 5 years of last investigation.
• Existing special access program clearance.
Primary Level Salary Range: $93,300.00 - $139,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
