Job Title: Commercial Business Partner Function: Commercial - Strategy, Performance and Business Management Hybrid Worker – Expectation is two days per week on site at our Nottingham, Alfreton, Sheffield, Wakefield or Daresbury office Contract type: 6 Month FTC Salary: Offered on a starting salary of £47,874 with the potential to increase to £56,322 over the course of three years Closing Date: Friday 23rd October 2026     NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.   NHS Supply Chain has an opportunity for a Commercial Business Partner to join our Strategy, Performance and Business Management Team, within our Commercial Directorate. Joining the business during an exciting period of transformation, the successful candidate will work to drive delivery again our strategic objectives, making it easier for the NHS to put patients first. We are seeking a strategic and experienced Commercial Business Partner, partnering into the Medical Consumables category, who will oversee all performance monitoring, operational reporting and sales data collection, processing and reconciliation. Responsibilities also include coordinating the response to any Freedom of Information requests related to the category.     The Commercial Business Partner will manage local performance reporting activity and host monthly performance forums to ensure delivery of Commercial KPIs and other strategic objectives. Lead a team of two, whilst business partnering into the Medical Consumables category, to develop outputs that fully support category growth and improvement across our key financial and operational metrics Be accountable for all performance related matters across Medical Consumables.    Drive the creation, implementation, monitoring (and remediation as required) of Commercial KPIs and other strategy objectives.   Intervene and improve organisational and team delivery through robust performance improvement planning and implementation. Drive individual contractual / framework performance to ensure the commitments made in category and sourcing strategies are achieved (and exceeded where possible). Utilise SMART operational metrics and performance reporting including assurance around governance and compliance processes. Independently manage responses to relevant Freedom of Information Requests, maintaining compliance with the Freedom of Information Act (2000), and ensure timely responses.

A minimum of five years’ experience working as a Commercial Business Partner. Experience of leading a team, fostering a collaborative environment so all colleagues can achieve their maximum potential.  Contract management knowledge including managing agreements; sales data capture, processing and reconciliation; management fee invoicing. Performance management in a procurement context. The ability to analyse and interpret commercial metrics, performance data, and cost–benefit outcomes. Experience in automation and digital process improvement, reducing manual workload and minimising errors. Ability to oversee and drive category-level performance, ensuring KPIs and other strategic objectives are achieved.  Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
