The posting
If you’re energised by turning complex process models into practical engineering decisions and thrive on solving challenging engineering questions through simulation, we’d love to hear from you!
Who we are
We are a leading pharma engineering company shaping the future of API pharma engineering globally. Leveraging the expertise of 2,000+ employees across Denmark, India, and the US, we design, build and optimise pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are essential to the health and well-being of patients everywhere.
Our success is driven by passion, innovation, and collaboration — with our customers and across our teams and disciplines. If you share our dedication to a noble cause and our passion for API pharma engineering, then NNE is the place for you.
About the role
We are looking for a Simulation Engineer with industrial experience to join our team of simulation specialists in Early Simulation Insights. As a team, we develop data-driven process models that support the design and optimisation of future API manufacturing facilities.
Your contribution will be important in transforming simulation results into practical engineering decisions that support facility design, capacity planning and utility-system configuration. Working closely with process, utility and modelling specialists, you will evaluate production scenarios, equipment requirements and operational strategies through dynamic simulations.
By testing assumptions and comparing alternatives early in the design process, you will help teams identify constraints, validate solutions and make informed decisions. In addition, you will contribute to the development of the department’s capabilities, methods and ways of working.
How you might spend your days
As a Simulation Engineer you’ll be:
- Building process models to evaluate capacity, utilisation and production schedules
- Assessing equipment configurations, batch strategies and cleaning approaches
- Modelling utility demand to support early facility and utility-system design
- Developing digital twins for early design verification and Virtual C&Q
- Translating simulation results into engineering recommendations with cross-functional specialists
Who you are
We care about who you are as a person. In the end, how you work, and your energy is what impacts the results we achieve as a team. As a person, you are:
- Curious and motivated to build new knowledge and explore complex engineering questions
- Structured in your approach and able to transform complexity into clear analyses and recommendations
- Open-minded and solution-oriented, with an interest in developing new methods and ways of working
- Comfortable taking ownership while collaborating across teams, disciplines and stakeholders
- Interested in understanding customer needs and translating technical insights into practical value
What you bring to the role
In all positions, there are some things that are preferred, and others, a bonus. If you do not meet all the qualifications listed below, you are welcome to offer alternative experience that you think would be valuable in this role:
- You hold an MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Process Systems Engineering, Simulation or a related discipline
- You have 3-5 years of experience with process modelling or simulation in pharma, biotech or another process industry
- You have hands-on experience with tools such as INOSIM, Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, MATLAB, Python, DWSIM or similar software
- You have a strong understanding of chemical engineering principles and can apply data-driven insights to engineering decision-making
- You are fluent in written and spoken English
