The posting

Student Assistant for Software Development at Novo Nordisk Engineering

If you're energised by software development and thrive on solving real business challenges through technology, we'd love to hear from you!

Who we are

We are a leading pharma engineering company shaping the future of API pharma engineering globally. Leveraging the expertise of 2,000+ employees across Denmark, India, and the US, we design, build and optimise pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are essential to the health and well-being of patients everywhere.

Our success is driven by passion, innovation, and collaboration — with our customers and across our teams and disciplines. If you share our dedication to a noble cause and our passion for API pharma engineering, then NNE is the place for you.

About the role

We are looking for a student software developer to join our system development team in Global IT.

As a team, we support NNE's engineering project portfolios and build modern applications that help colleagues work smarter across projects and locations.

As a student software developer, you will play an important role in supporting the team's development efforts by contributing to real business-critical solutions, helping maintain high quality through testing, and bringing fresh perspectives on emerging technologies such as Azure and AI.

This is a part-time position of around 2–3 days a week. You will work on real tasks from day one, with a dedicated colleague to guide you, review your code and help you grow.

How you might spend your days

As a student software developer, you’ll be:

  • Developing new features and fixing bugs in our applications, APIs and services
  • Building front-end components and backend endpoints under guidance from experienced developers
  • Helping perform testing of our applications, running test cases, reporting defects and writing automated tests to keep our quality high
  • Taking part in our agile ways of working, stand-ups, sprint planning and code reviews
  • Exploring new tools and technologies, such as cloud services on Microsoft Azure and AI and sharing what you learn with the team

Who you are

We care about who you are as a person. In the end, how you work, and your energy is what impacts the results we achieve as a team. As a person, you are:

  • A self-learner who picks up new technologies and tools on your own initiative and is not afraid to ask questions when you get stuck
  • Structured and responsible, taking ownership of your tasks and delivering what you commit to
  • Collaborative and comfortable working with colleagues across disciplines, locations and cultures
  • Curious and proactive in suggesting improvements to tools, processes and technical solutions
  • Open to feedback and ready to learn from mistakes, with high spirits and a sense of humour

What you bring to the role

In all positions, there are some things that are preferred, and others, a bonus. If you do not meet all the qualifications listed below, you are welcome to offer alternative experience that you think would be valuable in this role:

  • Are studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field
  • Have a basic understanding of programming in C#/.NET or Python
  • Have some experience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and ideally a modern framework such as React
  • Know the basics of relational databases and SQL
  • Have used Git for version control
  • Communicate well in English, written and spoken

It’s a bonus if you have tried automated testing, CI/CD or cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.

Life at NNE

NNE is short for Novo Nordisk Engineering. And for all of us who work here, NNE means so much more.

At NNE, you become part of a vibrant, project-based environment built on close day-to-day collaboration. The role is therefore primarily on-site, with physical presence at the workplace expected five days a week. Limited flexibility for occasional remote work may be accommodated in line with business needs.

We are, at our core, a people business and, as such, committed to continuously developing our people and the way we work together. We do not expect you to know it all from day one, and we truly believe a great start makes a real difference. We therefore welcome new colleagues with our award-nominated onboarding programme, supported by a range of in-house talent and development initiatives designed to support your long-term growth.

You can read more about the benefits we offer here.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
