Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician

Sunnyvale, CA (onsite) · Engineering · Full-time

About Noble Machines

Noble Machines builds general-purpose robots that take on the most dangerous and physically demanding jobs in heavy industry, so that doing that work becomes a choice, not a necessity. Our robots work in construction, mining and energy, where dust, heat, uneven ground and the unexpected are normal conditions, not edge cases.

We were founded in 2024 by engineers from Apple, SpaceX, NASA and Caltech. We came out of stealth in March 2026, after shipping robots to a Fortune Global 500 customer within 18 months of starting. We're a Series A team in Sunnyvale, and we're building the next generation of Moby, our general-purpose robot, now.

About the role

The work at Noble Machines is a team sport. As a Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician, you'll play a pivotal role in building and maintaining our robotic systems, test beds and facilities. You'll handle both mechanical and electronic hardware assembly, integration and test.

What you'll do

  • Configure, set up, assemble, test and integrate mechanical and electronic hardware.
  • Operate the tools needed for both mechanical and electrical tasks without instruction.
  • Test, debug, solder, crimp and carry out the other tasks involved in fabricating and integrating mechanical, PCB and wire harness assemblies.
  • Use precision calibrated tools, including torque wrenches and measurement gauges.
  • Work hands-on with both large and small mechanical assemblies.
  • Perform work according to procedures, specifications and test instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and document systems and operations.
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications.
  • Make sure all production work is done on time, safely and professionally.
  • Help resolve hardware problems in real time and suggest ways to prevent them from recurring.
  • Keep technical work areas clean and organized.
  • Take on other related duties as needed to keep the work environment efficient and effective.

What you'll need

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 3+ years of experience installing propulsion, mechanical, automotive, electrical or avionics hardware.
  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience performing mechanical or avionics installation work on robots, aircraft or vehicles.
  • Hands-on experience fabricating wire harnesses and/or electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Familiarity with J-STD-001.
  • Hands-on experience working in an ESD-controlled environment.
  • Experience in aerospace, aviation, the military or another high-volume operating environment.
  • Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings, manuals and reports.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments and test equipment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Skill operating machinery and hand and power tools that require manual dexterity.
  • Experience with forklifts, cranes and heavy equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a habit of fixing problems at the root.
  • Ability to shift roles and responsibilities quickly in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
