The posting

Head of Legal

Nordic Knots is building a global Scandinavian design house for the modern home. Starting with hand-crafted rugs, the brand has expanded rapidly into new home categories including textiles, curtains, and bedroom collections. Supported by top-tier global investors, we are entering our most ambitious growth phase yet. As we scale our international retail presence, complex global supply chains, and commercial partnerships, we are looking for an entrepreneurial, business-minded Head of Legal to join our team in Stockholm.

This is not a traditional, "by-the-book" corporate counsel role. We need a practical builder and strategic dealmaker who deeply understands the dynamics of e-commerce, retail, and physical product manufacturing. Someone who loves a fast-paced environment and sees legal not as a blocker, but as a strategic enabler for commercial growth. While Swedish law forms our primary legal foundation, extensive exposure to US law is essential, as the US represents our largest market.

The Role & What You’ll Do

Reporting directly to the COO and working in close partnership with the CEO and CCO, the Head of Legal will serve as a strategic partner across all commercial, operational, and corporate matters. You will take full ownership of our global legal framework, from negotiating major flagship retail leases and complex international supply chain agreements to securing compliance in all markets we operate in and supporting global expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial & Retail Contracts: Draft, review, and negotiate high-stakes commercial agreements, including global retail/store leases, distribution partnerships, wholesale terms, and marketing agreements.
  • Supply Chain & Operations: Work hand-in-hand with the Operations team to structure and negotiate complex manufacturing, sourcing, supplier, and logistics/3PL agreements across our global supply chain.
  • US & International Expansion: Navigate cross-border legal landscapes, ensuring regulatory compliance, consumer protection, data privacy (GDPR/US privacy laws), and trade/import compliance with a strong emphasis on US market requirements.
  • Brand Protection & IP: Oversee our global intellectual property portfolio (trademarks, designs, copyrights) and actively manage enforcement and brand protection strategy as we expand into new product categories.
  • C-Level Strategic Advisory: Serve as a trusted business advisor to executive leadership, providing clear, actionable risk assessments and practical recommendations that drive business goals forward.
  • Corporate Governance & Compliance: Handle corporate housekeeping, manage external counsel when specialized local expertise is required, and streamline internal legal processes for speed and scale.

Who You Are

Most importantly, you are a business-minded negotiator and operator. You understand how a high-growth consumer brand functions in practice and prefer clear, pragmatic solutions over dense legal memos. You thrive in fast-moving environments and are excited about building scalable legal structures for a global brand.

We believe you have:

  • Legal Expertise & Background: A Swedish Master of Laws with 8+ years of relevant experience from a reputable law firm, top-tier in-house legal department, or a mix of both.
  • E-commerce & Retail Sector Mastery: Deep experience within DTC, e-commerce, retail, or physical consumer goods, with a strong understanding of product manufacturing and global supply chains.
  • US Law Exposure: Significant, hands-on experience navigating US commercial law, US contracts, and US market expansion requirements.
  • Commercial & Practical Mindset: Exceptional negotiation skills with a business-first approach, you know how to balance legal risk with commercial reality to close deals quickly.
  • Entrepreneurial Drive: High agency, agility, and enthusiasm for a fast-paced environment where you wear multiple hats and take full ownership of your domain.

What The Role Offers

  • A high-impact executive position shaping the legal foundation and global commercial strategy of a rapidly expanding home brand on the journey to reach 100 million USD in revenue in 2026.
  • High autonomy to work directly alongside the founders and C-level team on key strategic initiatives.
  • An international, fast-paced environment with a passionate, collaborative team.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
