You will lead startup, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and customer training. As Nordson’s primary technical representative at customer sites, you will partner with internal teams to resolve issues and identify service, in-house repair, and spare parts opportunities.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Travel independently to domestic and international customer sites as Nordson’s primary technical representative.
  • Review project drawings, equipment configurations, component functions, application requirements, and customer expectations; prepare required tools, equipment, and safety supplies.
  • Support installation, startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of Nordson PPS equipment and auxiliary systems.
  • Train customers on safe equipment operation, maintenance, startup, shutdown, cleaning, troubleshooting, and best practices.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, process control, PLC logic, PID loop, control integration, and AC/DC drive issues.
  • Perform hands-on service using appropriate hand and power tools, lifting equipment, hoists, dollies, rollers, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Document service work, equipment condition, failures, corrective actions, recommendations, and customer follow-up in service reports.
  • Maintain installed equipment records, customer feedback, equipment performance data, service findings, and follow-up actions in CRM or service management systems.
  • Provide remote technical support and follow-up by phone, email, Teams, or other approved channels to resolve issues and support customer satisfaction.
  • Partner with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, Aftermarket Services, Spare Parts, and Product Development to resolve customer and recurring field issues.
  • Prepare service quotations and recommend service scope, labor, spare parts, upgrades, and aftermarket services.
  • Follow Nordson and customer safety requirements, including PPE, site orientation, lockout/tagout, and travel safety practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate or two-year technical degree in mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, industrial technology, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
  • Five or more years of experience in plastics extrusion, polymer processing, pelletizing, filtration, tooling, process equipment, industrial maintenance, or related field service preferred.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience in industrial plant environments.
  • Experience with extrusion tooling, die maintenance, screen changers, melt pumps, valves, pelletizers, cleaning systems, or related Nordson PPS equipment preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office; CRM experience, such as C4C or Salesforce, or service management system experience preferred.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on equipment maintenance, assembly, adjustment, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong electrical knowledge, including troubleshooting sensors, wiring, drives, controls, and related components.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, schematics, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, PID controls, process control integration, and AC/DC drives.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, assembly, and tooling drawings, schematics, specifications, and manuals.
  • Ability to diagnose extrusion, filtration, melt delivery, pelletizing, and tooling performance issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Clear, professional communication with plant personnel, maintenance, engineering, production leadership, sales, and management.
  • Customer-focused approach with the ability to stay organized and solution-oriented under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, adapt to changing travel plans, and make sound technical decisions independently with limited on-site support.
  • Strong writing skills for service reports, customer follow-up, technical recommendations, and internal feedback.
  • Ability to quickly learn new equipment, processes, systems, and applications.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Work in field, manufacturing, production, and office environments.
  • Frequent customer-site work, overnight and international travel, and schedule changes; independently coordinate travel arrangements and expenses.
  • Safely perform hands-on service around industrial and heated polymer processing equipment, rotating equipment, hydraulic systems, electrical panels, and production operations.
  • Wear required PPE and follow Nordson and customer safety requirements.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
