Location: Piketon, Ohio Title: Grounds Maintenance Supervisor Schedule (FT/PT): Regular Full Time Travel Required: No Government Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L clearance.

POSITION PURPOSE: Responsible for identifying and performing facility maintenance activities. Supervises assigned maintenance personnel, including staffing and performance management. Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for identifying and accomplishing the efficient and effective performance of infrastructure maintenance.
- Provides direct oversight for all grounds maintenance activities, and other activities as assigned.
- Ensures that assigned personnel are adequately supplied with information, materials, tools and equipment.
- Supervises assigned personnel, including staffing and performance management.
- Ensures that assigned personnel follow all safety and security policies and procedures.
- Ensures that assigned personnel observe all work rules.
- Responsible and accountable for Safety & Health performance and the communication of safety awareness.
- Operates equipment including those requiring Commercial Driver’s License, if necessary
- Maintains a safe working environment. Demonstrates awareness and implementation of applicable environmental, safety, and health (ES&H) requirements while also alerting co-workers of such requirements as needed.
- Demonstrates the ability to get along with co-workers, customers and visitors.
- Demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and quality.
- Ensures safety and health of employees during work tasks, utilizing good work practices and following procedures and protocols.
- Maintain ODNR Trapping License and Department of Agriculture Commercial Applicator License.
- Operate computer maintenance management software efficiently for daily entry of required data.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Safety Responsibilities
- Keep work area in order and free of hazards.
- Perform work within the controls identified and stop work when an unsafe work condition exists.
- Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives.
- Report all injuries.
- Participate in work planning so that hazards are identified and appropriate corrective actions are taken.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years related work experience, including two years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Previous experience in grounds maintenance, construction, mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, HVAC, excavation, and/or safety role is a plus.
Skills and Abilities Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine and non-routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematics Skills
- Ability to make mathematical calculations with reasonable speed and accuracy.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
Other Skills/Abilities
- Ability to operate typical grounds and facility maintenance equipment is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) and Adobe
- Must have experience with the CMMS system SOMAX
Special Requirements:
- Must obtain and maintain ODNR Trapping License and Department of Agriculture Commercial Applicator License.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE “L” clearance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to sit for part of the day. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and drive.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds or more.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Manual dexterity abilities required include operating machinery and equipment.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
- Work is typically performed outdoors in all weather conditions. The noise level in the environment varies from quiet to moderately noisy.
- Overtime is required when needed during mowing season and snow/ice events, etc.
- This position requires physical exertion and occasional repetitive motion.
