The posting

About the Opportunity The College of Social Sciences and Humanities and its ten tenure units form Northeastern’s hub for humanistic and social scientific inquiry, an intellectual community that is human-centered, public-facing, and globally minded. The college’s research, teaching, and engagement extend across the university and to governmental and non-governmental bodies, cultural institutions, and industry partners around the world. We seek scholars with a record of excellence in teaching that cultivates critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and independent judgment. The Department of Economics in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities seeks to fill two (2) full-time non-tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor, Associate Teaching Professor, or Full Teaching Professor. The field of teaching specialization is open, with preference given to international economics, AI and economics, health economics and environmental economics. In addition to undergraduate instruction, the department seeks candidates who can also contribute to graduate-level courses. Secondary teaching interests that would further strengthen an application include machine learning, computational economics, or data-intensive methods, particularly where these areas complement modern quantitative approaches. Successful candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence, provide evidence of teaching that connects economics to large social questions from multiple viewpoints, and a willingness to contribute meaningfully to both the undergraduate and graduate teaching missions of the department. This is an academic year teaching faculty position with opportunities for promotion through an established track from Assistant Teaching Professor to Associate Teaching Professor to Full Teaching Professor. The appointment will be on Northeastern’s Boston campus. This is a full time, benefits-eligible position with an expected start date of mid-August 2027. Responsibilities: Duties include a teaching load of six courses for the academic year. Student advising, professional development, and service activities are also expected. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Economics or a related field in hand by the employment start date is required. The successful candidate should have a strong record of exemplary teaching and/or demonstrate sufficient promise. Candidates seeking appointment at the Associate Teaching Professor level should already hold a position at the rank of Associate Teaching Professor or have a comparable level of experience. Candidates seeking appointment at the Full Teaching Professor level should already hold a position at the rank of Full Teaching Professor or have a comparable level of experience. Documents to Submit: Applicants should submit a cover letter that addresses their interest in and qualifications for the position, a curriculum vitae, a teaching statement, sample syllabi, teaching evaluations, and names and contact information for at least three professional references from whom letters of reference can be solicited as needed. The teaching statement should summarize your past instructional and mentorship experiences, your pedagogical philosophy, and what you would like to teach at Northeastern. Please highlight any pedagogical innovations, experiential learning activities, or strategies for teaching a global student population. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled. Please address questions to Associate Teaching Professor Jill Dupree, Search Committee Chair, at [email protected]. Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
