Role/Department

We are looking for an Operations professional to join our Agency Brokerage business, providing operational trade support to our Sales and Trading teams and servicing a panel of institutional clients.

The role sits within Global Capital Markets and is based on the Trading Floor, working as part of a dynamic, client-facing team.

The position focuses on the post-trade lifecycle, supporting activity from trade allocation through to pre-matching and settlement across global markets. The successful candidate will work across a range of asset types and support the associated reconciliation, exception management and operational control activities.

This is a hands-on operational role suited to someone with experience in capital markets, brokerage operations, trade support or a related environment, who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders and time-sensitive transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day operational support across the post-trade lifecycle, including trade allocation, pre-matching, settlement and reconciliation.
  • Support brokerage transactions across global markets and a range of asset types.
  • Review transactions, positions, cash activity, account records and related data to ensure accuracy, completeness and timely processing.
  • Investigate and resolve straightforward trade, settlement and reconciliation issues, escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
  • Monitor transactions against settlement deadlines, client service expectations and operational control requirements.
  • Support institutional clients, accounts and transactions while maintaining a high standard of service.
  • Work closely with Sales and Trading, Operations and other internal stakeholders to coordinate activity and resolve issues.
  • Maintain appropriate operational controls and ensure activity is completed in line with established policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, controls, processes and operational documentation.
  • Maintain clear and accurate procedures and support the implementation of operational improvements.
  • Build effective working relationships across the Capital Markets business and wider Operations teams.
  • Provide informal guidance and support to newer team members where appropriate.

Skills/Qualifications

  • Experience within capital markets, brokerage operations, trade support or a related operational environment.
  • Good understanding of the trade lifecycle, particularly post-trade processing, settlement and reconciliation.
  • Experience supporting brokerage or capital markets transactions is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve operational issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly when reviewing transactions, positions, cash movements and reconciliations.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and time-sensitive activities.
  • Good understanding of operational risk, controls and the importance of following established policies and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with Trading, Sales, Operations and other stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working independently on assigned responsibilities while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to practical solutions.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements within capital markets operations would be beneficial.
  • Relevant licences or professional certifications may be required depending on the specific responsibilities of the position.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
