Integrated Portfolio Services
Integrated Portfolio Services (IPS) provides investment reporting, analytics and operational support services to a diverse range of institutional clients, including foundations, endowments, pension funds, family offices, sovereign wealth funds and asset managers.
The Private Monitor IRAS team supports clients by collecting, validating, interpreting and maintaining investment data across private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure and hedge fund investments. The team works closely with General Partners, Investment Managers, Client Servicing teams and operational partners to ensure accurate reporting of private market investment activity and performance metrics.
Private Monitor IRAS professionals play an important role in delivering high-quality investment data that supports investment decision making, portfolio monitoring, performance measurement and operational oversight.
Job Description
Under general supervision, the Senior Analyst, supported by a team of Client Solutions and Private Markets partners, will be responsible for the processing, maintenance and quality review of investment data related to alternative investments. The Senior Analyst will assist in delivering operational support to institutional clients while developing expertise in private markets investments and reporting.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Knowledge of Capital market, financial markets, investment instruments, fixed income, Alternative asset, derivatives asset, portfolio management strategies and client reporting
- Ability to multitask and work with calm under crunch situations
- Excellent interpersonal skills for liaising with related departments and client servicing teams
- Acts as a daily point of contact for operational and data-related client queries.
- Reviews and processes investment activity received from General Partners and investment managers.
- Maintains investment records across private equity, private credit, real estate, infrastructure and hedge fund investments.
- Processes and validates:Capital calls Distributions Management fees Carried interest allocations Recallable return of capital Investment valuations Capital account statements ILPA reporting templates
- Supports the maintenance of commitment schedules and unfunded commitments.
- Assists in the preparation and completion of investment reconciliations.
- Performs quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and completeness of investment data.
- Investigates and resolves data discrepancies through collaboration with internal teams and external investment managers.
- Participates in ongoing process improvement initiatives and operational efficiency projects.
- Develops an understanding of investment performance concepts and private markets reporting requirements.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
- Experience or interest in one or more of the following areas:
o Alternative investment operations
o Private equity administration
o Investment accounting
o Fund accounting
o Performance measurement
o Investment operations
- Basic understanding of financial markets and investment instruments.
- Understanding of alternative investment concepts including:
o Capital calls
o Distributions
o Net Asset Value (NAV)
o Unfunded commitments
o Internal Rate of Return (IRR)
o Capital account statements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on data quality.
- Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset.
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
- Knowledge of institutional investors such as:
o Foundations
o Endowments
o Family offices
o Pension funds
o Sovereign wealth funds
o Asset managers
- Exposure to private market investment structures and reporting.
- Experience reviewing financial statements, capital account statements or alternative investment reporting packages.
- Understanding of accounting concepts associated with alternative investments.
- Exposure to data analysis and visualization tools such as Power BI or Alteryx is advantageous.
Qualifications
- College or University degree, preferably in:
o Finance
o Accounting
o Economics
o Mathematics
o Business
o Related discipline
- 0–3 years of relevant experience in financial services, investment operations, fund accounting or alternative investment administration.
- Minimum 24 months in current role (for internal applicants)
