The Company

NorthMark Compute & Cloud (NMC²) is backed by dedicated leadership and investment, with a clear mission as it operates at the bleeding edge of technology. Its goal is to scale and enhance the high-performance computing (HPC) and cloud infrastructure that supports its clients' research, production, and delivery, enabling breakthroughs that shape the industries of tomorrow. Its engineers build critical infrastructure to eliminate friction in scientific research, simulations, analysis, and decision-making, accelerating discovery and driving faster innovation.

The Position

We are seeking an experienced, technically credible Infrastructure Delivery Program Manager to own end-to-end delivery of one of NMC²'s flagship HPC Center sites — a multi-year, multi-phase program spanning several buildings and representing $500M+ in capital investment. NMC² operates multiple HPC sites; the SVP, HPC Infrastructure Programs holds portfolio-level oversight across all of them, while this role owns full delivery accountability for a single flagship site. This is a senior leadership role owning the program management discipline for the full lifecycle of the site — translating executive strategy into structured, well-governed delivery, and holding a team of HPC Project Managers accountable for cost, schedule, and quality outcomes across every phase and building.

You will report to the SVP, HPC Infrastructure Programs, acting as their operating partner for program execution and governance on this site, while building and leading a team of HPC Project Managers who each own a phase, building, or major workstream within the flagship program. This role sits at the intersection of technical delivery, vendor and construction coordination, and executive reporting — you should be equally comfortable in a schedule risk review and a board update. Given the scale and duration of the program, you will also be the primary point of continuity and institutional knowledge for the buildout across its multi-year lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of NMC²'s flagship HPC Center buildout — from planning and design through commissioning and ramp — across all phases and buildings of the program.
  • Build, manage, and develop a team of HPC Project Managers, each owning a phase, building, or major workstream: assign scope, coach on technical delivery rigor, and hold the team accountable to cost, schedule, and quality commitments.
  • Establish and enforce program management standards, methodology, and tooling across the buildout (RAID logs, dependency tracking, change control, stage-gate reviews), ensuring consistency across phases delivered over multiple years.
  • Coordinate with utility, permitting, and municipal stakeholders as needed to keep site development on schedule at this scale.
  • Serve as the primary program governance partner to the SVP, HPC Infrastructure Programs, translating executive priorities into structured program plans, milestones, and reporting cadences.
  • Drive cross-functional coordination across engineering, data center operations, supply chain/procurement, construction and facilities, and finance to identify and de-risk delivery timelines.
  • Own program-level risk management: identify critical-path risks and technical/vendor dependencies across phases, escalate blockers early, and drive root-cause resolution.
  • Build and maintain executive dashboards and KPI reporting that give real-time visibility into capacity, schedule, cost, and quality across every phase and building of the program.
  • Manage day-to-day site-level vendor and subcontractor relationships (colocation, local trades, specialty installers), holding them accountable to delivery commitments; partner with the SVP and central procurement on major hardware/GPU supply and general contractor agreements negotiated at the portfolio level, ensuring this site's needs are represented in those negotiations.
  • Coordinate with peer site VPs and the SVP on shared portfolio constraints — hardware/GPU allocation, skilled labor and talent availability, and centrally-negotiated vendor capacity; escalate unresolved cross-site conflicts to the SVP for prioritization rather than resolving them peer-to-peer.
  • Partner with engineering and finance on capacity planning and forecasting to align infrastructure delivery timelines with commercial commitments and client SLAs.
  • Prepare program status materials for executive leadership, board meetings, and investor updates when infrastructure delivery is on the agenda.
  • Lead post-mortems and continuous improvement processes to raise program management maturity across the organization.
  • Support scaling of the program management function: hiring, onboarding, and career development for HPC Project Managers.
  • Partner with the Strategy & Operations function (or equivalent) to feed program-level data — cost, schedule, capacity, risk — into executive reporting, annual planning, and board materials, ensuring a clear handoff rather than duplicated ownership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification a strong plus.
  • 12-15+ years of experience in technical program or project management, ideally within data center, HPC, cloud infrastructure, or large-scale capital infrastructure delivery.
  • Proven track record owning a large-scale, multi-year, multi-phase capital infrastructure program end-to-end ($250M+ capex), such as a data center campus buildout, hyperscale GPU cluster deployment, or comparable large facility development. Candidates with direct ownership at $100-250M scale and a clear trajectory toward this level will also be considered.
  • Experience managing and developing a team of project or program managers — able to hold a team accountable for workstream outcomes without owning execution directly.
  • Deep fluency in program management methodology: critical path analysis, risk and dependency management, resource and capacity planning, stage-gate governance.
  • Comfortable operating at both a strategic level (executive and board reporting) and a tactical level (schedule detail, vendor management, technical risk).
  • Experience managing vendor and contractor relationships tied to infrastructure delivery (construction, hardware suppliers, colocation providers) — either through direct negotiation or through administering and enforcing centrally-negotiated agreements.
  • Strong executive communication skills, with experience presenting program status directly to C-suite or board audiences.
  • Direct experience with hyperscale infrastructure, GPU/HPC compute buildouts, or comparable large-scale facility development — this is a required qualification given the scale of the program, not a bonus.
  • Bonus: experience coordinating with utilities, permitting authorities, or municipal stakeholders on large capital projects.
  • Bonus: experience in a PE-backed or high-growth scale-up environment.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
