North Star Buick GMC is seeking a skilled Diesel/Gas Mechanic to join our team in Zelienople, PA. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engine/gas engines and related systems to ensure vehicles operate safely and efficiently. At North Star Buick GMC our first priority is taking care of our technicians, we offer competitive wages, hourly bonuses starting at 45 hours, additional hours increase for Diesel Repairs, Internal Engine and Transmission Repairs and Electrical Diagnosis and Repairs. Responsibilities

  • Inspect and test diesel/gas vehicles to identify mechanical issues
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components
  • Use diagnostic equipment and tools to troubleshoot engine problem
  • Maintain accurate service records and report findings to management
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with team members to improve service processes and customer satisfaction

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Diesel/Gas Mechanic with GM Experience Preferred
  • Strong knowledge of diesel/gas engine systems and components
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and computerized engine controls
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to work in Zelienople, PA

Responsibilities

  • Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
  • Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
  • Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
  • Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required
  • B level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair
  • Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
  • Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic environment
  • Teammate with ability to collaborate with others effectively
  • Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
